Case Study - Smart City Platform & Integration CHALLENGE SOLUTION BENEFITS Moreton Bay Regional Council (South-East Queensland, Australia) is the third largest local government area in Australian and is a leader in the development of smart city initiatives. Moreton Bay Regional Council’s architecture for delivering smart city services to their stakeholders was closely aligned with various programs of work related to Smart City platforms, ERP replacement program and cloud architecture. Council was establishing a cloud-based Smart City platform to support many Smart City projects, and at the same time was undertaking a SaaS ERP replacement program. There was a need for rapid and reliable customisation to support the myriad of different device and data types, and the need for integration between IoT and all of Council’s existing systems (including the ERP). Council also wanted to investigate a different model to in-house development, or off-the-shelf systems. Moreton Bay Regional Council chose to use and evaluate Reekoh’s agile Integration Platform, alongside other tools, as a solution to their smart city data and integration requirements. Reekoh’s Open Plugin Framework allowed for the rapid development of new plugins alongside the large repository of existing plugins and integrations, and meant that data could begin flowing quickly through from a number of existing systems and solutions. Reekoh was also able to slot in quickly to Council’s API layer strategy quickly and efficiently, providing confidence of a fully future-proofed technology stack across all scenarios. Agile integration to vendor-specific IoT solutions and existing enterprise application architecture Allows the city to focus on business and stakeholder outcomes from smart city projects rather than concerns around interoperability or technology Provides for multiple infrastructure deployment options that can scale with Council’s demands and requirements Supported and managed product, delivered through services from partners or Reekoh’s professional services team. ©2019 Reekoh Pty Ltd.
