    Aquapanel Interior tile backer from Knauf Drywall hasa permanent booking at one of Londons premierluxury hotels, where it supports heavy marble tiles injust under 200 bathrooms in the five staraccommodation currently under refurbishment. BeckInteriors, main contractor for the refurbishment,agreed to use the 12.5mm fibre cement board afterconsultation with Knauf Drywall and the design team.Renowned for its immense strength, even when wet,market leading Knauf Aquapanel Interior wasdeveloped as a drywall solution for wet areas, and is

    the best safeguard against tile adhesion failures indrywall constructions.

    Prestigious 90m projectThe London hotels current two year redevelopment,due for completion in late 2010, will completelyreinvent the hotel. All eight floors of guestroomsand suites, and the ground floor restaurants andbars, have been reconfigured and redesigned, anda spa and fitness suite added in an entirely newrooftop extension.

    Beck Interiors is an internationally acclaimed specialistin hotel renovation. Contracts Director Andr Robertssays 15mm marble tiles have been specified for thehotels bathrooms, and Knauf Drywall is confident that

    of Aquapanel Interior for the bathrooms 53 of which are designed as large wetrooms, ratherthan traditional bathrooms with tub. DT Director PaulTear says Aquapanel Interior is installed for floor-to-ceiling tiling and it shapes some intricate detailingincluding tiled alcoves and stud walls, as well as bathpanels. Ive worked with Aquapanel Interior on otherjobs and it is a good, stable board which is easy to cutand simplifies the installation, he says. DT Interiorssourced the Aquapanel Interior through Essex-basedPenlaw & Co, one of the largest independent drywallsuppliers in the south, with five branches. Both KnaufDrywall and Penlaw & Co were closely involved

    throughout discussions on the specification providingthe required technical advice.
