the most serious problems affecting our country. It occurs in various forms and increases mortalities, risk of infections, respiratory failures, etc…

Motivation• Because of the low incomes of families, many cannot afford

the basic necessities for nutritious diets.

Malnutrition Defined

• Malnutrition is a state of weakness characterized by a lack of certain essential elements in the diet which produces a stunt in the growth and development of the human body.

What Malnutrition DoesMalnourishment is hardest on children. The debilitating effects of the disease cause physical, psychological, and social problems that can last their entire life.

What Malnutrition Does

UNICEF classifies the disease as #1 cause of death in infants and preschool age children in developing nations such as Guatemala.

Mission Statement• One can add that it is a

form of abuse. In the worst cases, the parents’ lack of attention and care often accompanies the lack of nutrients.

General Objective• To provide children entering the

house a combination of assistance: medical, nutritional and educational for their quick recovery.

Specific Objectives• To give to a child an antiquate environment for

his/her personal development through adequate assistance with regard to the preparation of food, clothes, and hygiene.

Specific Objectives• To promote nutritional education in families • To teach the Mothers ways to use highly

nutritional foods that they produce in their own communities.

• As a minimum, the house should be able to accommodate and provide excellent service to 20 children.
