Carolyn Vickers THOMASVILLE - Mrs. Edith "Carolyn" Vickers of Thomasville, NC, departed this life on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born September 14, 1942, in Andrews, NC (Cherokee County), Carolyn was the daughter of the late Clyde Melvin Carver, Sr. and Maybell Marie Carver. She lived most of her life in Thomasville and she retired from nursing at High Point Regional Hospital last year. Carolyn was dedicated to her work and the care of her patients on 6 South. During her protracted battle with cancer, she was overwhelmed by the love and support she received from the staff of the Cancer Center of High Point Regional Hospital. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Carolyn will be deeply missed by her many friends and family. Her parents and a sister, Beula Hatfield preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Milton Douglas Vickers, Sr. Children Milton Douglas Vickers, Jr., Angela Dawn Burke and husband Tom. Grandchildren Anthony, Alexandra and Caitlin. Great- grandchild Jayden. Brothers Hancel Dale Carver and wife Pat, Clyde Melvin Carver, Jr. and wife Mildred, Charles Odell Carver and wife Linda. Sister Eula Bell and husband Aubrey.

THOMASVILLE - Mrs. Edith "Carolyn" Vickers of Thomasville, NC, departed this life on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

Born September 14, 1942, in Andrews, NC (Cherokee County), Carolyn was the daughter of the late Clyde Melvin Carver, Sr. and Maybell Marie Carver. She lived most of her life in Thomasville and she retired from nursing at High Point Regional Hospital last year. Carolyn was dedicated to her work and the care of her patients on 6 South. During her protracted battle with cancer, she was overwhelmed by the love and support she received from the staff of the Cancer Center of High Point Regional Hospital.
