    The Scarlets were created from the original Llanelli RFC when Welsh eliterugby was restructured a few years ago. Llanelli continue to thrive as asemi-pro club in the top flight of Welsh rugby. Both teams played atStradey Park until October 2008. The following month they both moved tothe spectacular Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli.

    Ffos Las has brought back top class racing to West Wales for the first time since

    1937. You can find us at the heart of Carmarthenshire between the towns Llanelli and

    Carmarthen, and near the city of Swansea. The 60 acre setting is magnifi-

    cent. Surrounded by rolling hills and countryside and have views down the Gwendra-

    eth Valley to Carmarthen Bay. It is almost impossible to believe that Ffos Las was the

    former site of the largest open cast coalmine in Europe.

    One of the main focal points here at Ffos Las has to be our amazing sculpture. Situ-

    ated in front of the Winners Enclosure, the Spirit of the Race sculpture provides the

    perfect meeting place as well as a great photo opportunity for all racegoers.
