SB 125 (PA Hydocodone Bill) Sponsored a Substitute bill that successfully ADDED APRNs to the bill. Unfortunately, bill was further amended with very problematic language that would have given Composite Board of Medicine more authority over APRNs. There was consensus from BON, GNA, and APRN leaders that either that added Section 2 would have to be removed or APRNs would need to be removed from bill entirely. RESULT: With hours of getting this feedback, APRNs were successfully removed from SB 125 to prevent increased CBOM authority over APRNs.

Even though, APRNs, ultimately had to be removed from the bill due to deep concerns regarding subsequently added language, we are deeply appreciative of your efforts to include APRNs

We are hopeful that upcoming Nursing/APRN Study Committees (SR 188 and HR 388) will help bring much needed attention to the many existing barriers APRNs face in delivering care to Georgians, including the inability to Rx Schedule IIs, especially in underserved communities.
