Meet the director, Dean, who has built the company from the ground up. With a highly skilled and diverse set of staff, SMLXL Projects have the right team to fit your project and delivery needs.

Since SMLXL’S inception, Dean has led the company, helping to establish it as one of Australia’s foremost design and construction companies. Dean has over 15 years experience within the construction industry across multiple sectors and has successfully delivered several highly complex and large scale design and construction and PPP projects.

Dean has gained a reputation as a hands on team leader who involves himself in all parts of a project. In 2015 he was recognised by AIM as one of the 30 under 30’s. He has a Bachelor or Construction Management from Western Sydney University (UWS) and on top of his ongoing duties at SMLXL, Dean is Vice president at the not-for-profit organisation Heilala.

Certifications - WHS Certification / Environment Certification /Qualifications SMLXL Projects has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of:

- AS/NZS 4801:2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System

- ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems

- ISO 9007:2015 Quality Management Systems

Furthermore expansive procedures and plans are available on request.

Industrial relations strategy:

SMLXL manages industrial relations on its projects in accordance with the NSW Code of Practice for Procurement: Building and Construction.

SMLXL has established and proven systems and is accredited in all aspects to ISO and AS/NZ standards. Our OHS management system meets the requirements of the Australian government building and construction OHS accreditation scheme and is accredited under the OFSC. As part of our role, we would be instrumental in driving the “safety in design” outcomes during the ECI phase.

In anticipation of an immediate start we have already undertaken our preliminary risk assessment for the project and have prepared project specific HSE and QA plans.

SMLXL is a member of the green building council of Australia and supports the fundamental principles of environmental sustainability in urban development. Our in-house green star accredited professionals will ensure the five star design and as-SMLXL rating is achieved and will work tirelessly with the team to exhaust all options to target a point’s matrix that optimise’s green outcomes within financial constraints.
