Anthony Tugman built a flower bed and flagpole around the 9/11 memorial outside the Schererville Police Department for his

Eagle Scout project. Anthony’s project has brought attention to this deserving memorial that stands as a sign of respect to the first responders and all others who lost their lives or loved ones on September 11th.

Friends of Scouting is an opportunity for families, alumni, businesses and community groups to support Scouting. A solid investment plan is about growth, and an investment in a child’s future is guaranteed to grow.

• Innovative programs for over 22,000 youth annually• 752 Scouting units• Training for more than 8,000 registered adult volunteers• Four council service centers• Summer and year-round camps• Cub Scout day camp• Recruitment activities• Liability and accident insurance for all registered participants at Scouting events

Cub Scout Ricky Mercado saved his brother’s life by using the first-

aid training he received in Scouting. Ricky, who was 8 years old at the time, saw his brother Joey choking and took swift action to dislodge the food stuck in Joey’s throat.

To attain Scouting’s highest rank of Eagle, a young man must demonstrate caring for others and for

his community, as well as leadership skills, self-sufficiency and the ability to overcome obstacles. Local Eagle Scouts Reece O’Connor (left) and Jacob Klein (right) did so while earning every merit badge available during their Scouting tenure.

IMPACT

145,000service hours last year

Pathway to Adventure Council Scouts contributed 145,000 service hours toward projects for veterans’ facilities, schools, religious institutions, retirement communities, parks, food pantries and many other worthy causes.

Your investment in Scouting can be seen in these fine young people and in their contributions to our communities.

Calumet Community partners with more than 100 local organizations to provide life-changing opportunities to over 4,500 young people in 68 communities. These diverse communities reach from Orland Park, IL to Portage, IN and from Lake Michigan to the Kankakee River.

The youth we serve enjoy rocket launches, camporees, underwater and aerial robotics, and much more! We also offer opportunities for fun at Cub Scout Adventure Day and Camp Betz.
