Legislative Update
Beginning of the 2013-2014 Legislative Session
Approximately 2,500 bills will have been submitted by the end of business today.
C.A.R. only looks for bills that are Real Estate Related
2012 Highlights in Review
• AB178- Degree Broker -clarify the law to require "degree brokers" to have an undergraduate degree with either a major or a minor in real estate. Status- Signed into law.
• SB1220 – Transfer Tax- Wanted to impose a transfer tax in the form of a point of sale document recording fee. Status-C.A.R. negotiated the removal of the transfer tax at point of sale.

We will be continue to be watchful- easier to play defense than offense
