About UsThe Boon’s name has been associated with the

travel industry for over 70 years.

In 1993, Suzanne Evans established Boon’sCalibre Travel alongside the well respected

Boreham coach hire business, Boon’sCoaches, to specialise in the provision of

quality coach tours and day excursions.

Today, Suzanne, who was born in Boreham, runs the business from the neighbouringvillage of Hatfield Peverel, using vehicles

supplied by Kings Coaches, an establishedfamily firm of more than 60 years standing. She

is married to Alan and they have two sons,Matthew aged 16 and David aged 11.

Boon’s Calibre Travel is committed to promotingquality tours and excursions to the exactingstandards expected from a companybearing the Boon’s name, while stillretaining the caring family ethos, whichis so important, and yet, is sadly lackingin today's world.

The company’s success in local, regionaland national industry awards, in particularfor excellent customer service, is indicativeof Suzanne’s commitment to the business andher clients.

We hope that after readingthrough our brochure, you will be inspired totravel with us. We have put on paper the factsconcerning each holiday, short break and dayexcursion, however, the “family” atmosphere thatprevails on our tours cannot be expressed inblack and white, so we invite you to join ourmany regular customers (indeed friends) toexperience for yourselves what we have to offer.

We stress that we cannot guaranteeany requests that are made, but we normally find thatmost hotels respond favourably in such circumstances. If we are not informed in this way we cannot be heldresponsible for any inconvenience or costs incurred bythe client and this may include our refusal to take youon holiday or to complete your holiday arrangements. Please note that 100% cancellation charges wouldapply in these circumstances. You should be aware thatalthough many hotels cater for wheelchairs there stillmight be steps or stairs to contend with (this will alsoapply to places visited on excursions). We wouldstrongly recommend that people with special needs donot travel alone unless they are totally self-sufficient.Our coach drivers will gladly give assistance whenrequired, however, it is not possible for the coach driver,or fellow passengers, to become full-time carers for theduration of the tour. We regret that we are unable toaccept bookings from customers whose special needsmake them heavily dependant on others, unless theyare accompanied by a dedicated travelling companionwho will assist them throughout the tour. Should thedecision to refuse a booking be disputed by thecustomer, a Doctors ‘Certificate of Fitness to TravelUnaccompanied’ will be required (at customers ownexpense).

13 Accommodation and Special RequirementsPlease provide written notification when booking ofany special requirements (e.g. special diets). We willnote these requirements on your booking confirmationand do our utmost to satisfy them, however, we cannotguarantee that they will be met and hence theirprovision is not a condition of this contract.Nevertheless, hotels are usually sympathetic torequests relating to medical matters. Requests fordouble rooms are honoured wherever possible, however, since many modern hotels have a majority oftwin rooms this cannot be guaranteed. All rooms haveprivate facilities and this is deemed to have beenaffected by the provision of either a bath and WC or ashower and WC, requests for one or the other can onlybe treated as requests. Single rooms will be sold to youat the supplement (if any) specified in the tourdescription. Additional single rooms over and above ouroriginal allocation, which is usually 4-8 rooms, mayattract a surcharge levied by the hotel.

14 Passports and VisasFor all Continental holidays you will require a full 10-year British Passport. If you have any doubts aboutyour status as a resident British subject, or you do nothold a full British Passport, you must check with theEmbassies or Consulates of the countries to be visitedto confirm the passport or visa requirements needed inyour particular circumstances. We cannot acceptresponsibility if passengers are not in possession ofthe correct travel documents.

15 Heath Under normal circumstances, most Western EuropeanCountries do not require visitors to be vaccinated. However, we will indicate any known vaccination orother health requirements where possible for eachcountry to be visited. If you are unsure of the healthrequirements of the country you are visiting, you areadvised to check with your doctor before travelling.

OUR PROMISE TO YOU

1 We reserve your HolidayWhen you or your travel agent has provisionallyconfirmed that we have space on the holiday of yourchoice, a confirmation/invoice will be forwarded to younormally within 14 days of receipt of your signedbooking form and deposit. The contract is madebetween us when you receive this confirmation.Provisional bookings will only be held for 14 days.

2 Your Holiday Price Holiday prices include all coach travel, hotelaccommodation, and meals, as specified in the holidaydescription, and VAT where applicable. Morning coffee, afternoon tea, and other refreshments taken atestablishments en-route are not included. Some hotelsmay make a small charge for porterage and tea/coffeeserved after dinner. Gratuities to hotel staff anddriver/couriers are discretionary. Unless specificallyindicated in the tour itinerary or description, entrancefees and guide fees are not included in the holidaycost. Extras at hotels (such as newspapers, telephonecalls, and room service etc), midday meals and otherrefreshments taken during the tour, all admissions toattractions and places of interest, fares for boat trips(other than those which are a necessary part of thejourney), and fares for train rides, are NOT included inthe holiday cost unless otherwise stated.

The price of your holiday is subject to surchargesresulting from the following: fuel increases, government action, including additional bonding orlicensing requirements, VAT, taxes, or levies by the UK(or overseas) government or government agencies. Inall cases we reserve the right to pass on theseamounts in full. However, for other increases such asthose resulting from currency fluctuations, andincreases in scheduled fares, we will absorb an amountequivalent to 2% of the holiday price which excludesinsurance premiums and any amendment charges. Onlyamounts in excess of this 2% will be surcharged, butwhere a surcharge is payable there will be anadministration charge of £1 per person together withan amount to cover agents commission. If this meanspaying more than 10% on the holiday price, you will beentitled to cancel your holiday with a full refund of allmoney paid except for any premium paid to us forholiday insurance and amendment charges. Should youdecide to cancel because of this, you must exerciseyour right to do so within 14 days from the issue dateprinted on the invoice. Surcharges will not be imposedwithin 30 days of departure date.

3 If we change your holidayThe arrangements for holidays in our brochures/leaflets are made many months in advance andchanges are sometimes unavoidable. However, most ofthese changes are very minor, but where they aresignificant we will notify you as soon as reasonablypossible before your departure date.

A “significant change” is one that involveschanging your departure date; resort area or reducingthe quality of your main hotel. Changing the locationof a single overnight hotel does not constitute asignificant change nor do minor changes betweenoriginal and final itineraries. In the event of a“significant change” you may decide to: [a] continuewith your holiday as amended; [b] accept analternative holiday, which we may offer you (with priceadjustment as appropriate); or [c] cancel your booking. If you cancel your booking we will refund all moniespaid by you. No other claims for compensation orexpenses will be considered.

4 If we cancel your holidayWe reserve the right to cancel your holiday, if forexample, there is insufficient demand, and if thisshould occur we would return to you all the monies youhave paid to us or offer you a suitable alternativeholiday. However, we will not normally cancel yourholiday within 3 weeks of departure unless (a) youhave not paid for your holiday in full or (b) your holidayis influenced by, war or threat of war, adverse weatherconditions riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrialdisputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, epidemic orhealth risk, technical problems to transport, closure orcongestion of ports, or similar events beyond ourcontrol. If we have to cancel your holiday, we are liableonly for monies you have paid to us.

5 What happens to complaints? All complaints that are received are thoroughlyinvestigated and customers kept informed at eachstage of the investigation, however, sometimes theseinvestigations can take time awaiting response fromour suppliers. We can normally agree an amicablesettlement of the few serious complaints that wereceive if the complaint is found to be genuine. Forcomplaints made as a result of component parts of yourholiday as advertised in our brochures/leaflets notbeing supplied to you to a reasonable standard we willpay you a reasonable compensation provided that thecomplaint is genuine and the correct complaintsprocedure has been followed. However, our overallliability is limited by the exclusions below and ourliability to each claimant is limited to the total cost ofthe holiday per person. (Please refer to “Your contractwith us” item 5 for complaints procedure and “OurPromise to You” items 6, 7, 8 and 9 which refer toliability, hotel amenities, brochure/leaflet accuracy, andrunning times).

6 Liability We accept no responsibility for and shall not be liable inrespect of the non-provision of advertised componentparts of your holiday, or any loss, damage or additionalexpense incurred due to circumstances which we couldnot predict and which were beyond our control, such asadverse weather, road or traffic conditions, or thematters referred to in paragraph 4 (b) above.

7 Hotel amenitiesWe will not be liable for the unavailability of thefollowing hotel amenities: amenities (e.g. hotel lifts andswimming pools etc) that require servicing and cleaningand may not therefore be available at all times, servicesthat may be affected by weather conditions and theiravailability is entirely at the discretion of the providerof the service, entertainment provided by hotels whichis often subject to demand and its nature and/orfrequency may be varied if there is a lack of demand orinsufficient numbers staying at the hotel.

8 Accuracy of brochures/leafletsIn all cases all descriptions of hotels, resorts, places ofinterest etc are published in good faith and arebelieved to be correct at the time of printing.

9 Published Running Times The published running times of services are estimatesonly and we will not be liable for any loss (howsoevercaused) arising from delay or failure to operate servicesin accordance with published timings.
