DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

GEOCACHING Think you know a lot about flora and fauna? This eco trivia quiz will send you on a quest through the Duchesnay forest to find out! Using a GPS and a map of the area, you’ll leave the beaten track. Will your team be up to the challenge? Put yourselves to the test!

CLIMBING ON THE TOWER Discover rock climbing with this introduction to basic techniques and a chance to give it a try on the tower. Four routes of varying levels of difficulty await you. Ready, set, climb!

ARCHERY Introduction to archery techniques. Presentation of the equipment and techniques. Come test your skills and precision during outdoor games and contests (indoors if it rains).

CAMPFIRE Join us on a short torch-lit trail towards our secret beach. On site, enjoy our priviledged view of Lake Saint-Joseph and warm up to a campfire.

SECRETS OF THE ONTARITZI RIVER Interpretive kayaking activity on the Ontaritzi river, appropriate for beginners. Discussion, observation and information about the river and wetlands. Minimum age required: 12 years old.

LAKE PIRATES Grab your oars, shipmates! Aboard a rabaska canoe, navigate the waters of Lake St-Joseph in search of the fearsome pirate Jack Rackham’s treasure. Armed with a map, compass and much courage, you must solve the puzzles to find the secret spot. Family acitivty. Minimum of 6 people required to go out in the rabaska. If less than 6 people, it’s possible to go out in regular canoes.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES

FOREST SEGWAY The Segway is a one-place electric vehicle consisting of a platform on two wheels and a vertical shaft topped by a handlebar. Equipped with low-pressure tires, it is perfectly adapted to our forest trails. Experience this unique vehicle along with our guide on a forest trail, after a short practice session. Minimum age required: 16 years old. Activity with a cost, not included in the Activity Packages or the Daily Passes.

GUIDED ACTIVITIES

HIKING The station offers 25.7 km of easy-going hiking trails. You'll make many discoveries in the forest, such as rock shelters, a geological phenomenon that fascinates young and old alike. For an evening escapade, you can take our lighted hiking trail (1 km). Non-guided activity.

CYCLING The 68-km Jacques-Cartier-Portneuf cycling path passes by the Station. Linked to Corridor des Che-minots, it goes all the way to Québec City. Nearby, Chemin de la liseuse runs alongside Rivière Jacques-Cartier for 13 km. Bike rental located at the Boat House. Non-guided activity.

SWIMMING Kids and adults love Lac Saint-Joseph. The sandy beach is ideal for games and relaxation. Private beach, for clients with accommodations only. Non-guided activity.

ANIMAL RALLY! With your family, look for the animal silhouettes along the 1.5km trail that takes you through the Duchesnay forest. Sharpen your sense of observation and share your knowledge of animals and nature. Get your activity booklet at the Auberge’s lobby.

WILDLIFE PATROL

Do you know much about animals and protecting the environment? Do you enjoy solving problems and investigating? Complete the 4 missions of your training and become a qualified Duchesnay Conservation Officer! Includes a small challenge course for 5-8 year olds.

AUTONOMOUS FAMILY ACTIVITIES A guide will explain the activities at 9am each morning in the lobby. Complete the activity autonomously during the day.
