Kiss and Go Parking Zone Just a reminder about the lsquoKiss and Gordquo parking area at the front of the school on Mallum Avenue These are short term parking spaces of 2 minutes marked with supplementary ldquoKiss and Gordquo signs The area is designated for only dropping off and picking up students and not for leaving your car to collect students from inside the school Frankston Council has indicated they will enforce the parking restrictions Parent Opinion Survey Information has been sent to 72 families in our school generated by our student administration package in regards to the Parent Opinion Survey Links to the survey have been sent out via mail to the random samples of families and so far we have had 17 response rate The more we receive the more reliable the data We do thank you for taking the time to complete the survey School Concert WHEN I GROW UP Our school concert is fast approaching on Wednesday 28th August Tickets for the concert can be purchased either directly from the Frankston Arts Centre online at wwwthefaccomau or by phone on 9784 1060 All tickets are priced at $1650 per ticket Additional purchasing and postage charges may apply Student Led Conferences Our 2019 Student Led Conferences will be held on Monday 5th August and Wednesday 7th August with students from Foundation to Year 6 leading their own learning discussionconferences We are committed to our students having a strong voice in their learning Teachers work with students to prepare for the sessions to capture the progress in their learning Students develop their vocabulary to explain their goals and demonstrate their achievements The approach gives students ownership of their learning and the formal opportunity to communicate their learning with their parents Please return your Student Led Conference booking form to the class teacher by Friday 2nd August (tomorrow) It would be great to have as many families as possible come along to the conference Absences Please remember that students are expected to be at school everyday unless they are sick It is concerning to see some of our students missing days away from school without a legitimate reason If your child is away from school you are required by the Department of Education to provide the school with an explanation for your childrsquos absence If the school does not receive notification that your child is absent before 1000am You will receive a phone call asking for an explanation
Home-School Communication We have a variety of communication tools that we are currently using to reach our school community We have a newsletter every second week that is sent home as a paper copy or delivered electronically The FlexiBuzz is used to send a short message out to all our followers that have downloaded the app to their smart phone We make phone contact for students absences that havenrsquot been notified and will use SMS communication in the rare case of a school wide emergency Our noticeboard at the front of the school highlights activities and events happening in the coming week We hope that the varied forms of communication we offer meet your current needs Karen Luff Principal
