The Chairman Tr. Manmohan Kothari called the 24th Meeting of 2008-09 (831st continuous ) to order with a toast to President, Republic of India and Sponsor Table CART 12.

The Chairman appointed Tr. Kunal as Sergeant for the meeting.

The Chairman welcomed HT Sumit, HT Sanjay , HT Pankaj and all the Tablers of RT 34 to the meeting.

LOA was granted to Tr. Aditya and Tr. Siddharth. Apologies were received from Tr. Narayan , Tr. Vishnu & Tr. Harmeet.

The Minutes for 23rd Meeting (830th continuous) was passed proposed by Tr.Rajesh A. and seconded by Tr. Mitesh.

Tr. Rajesh informed that the discussions over motions will be taken over email .

Tr. Vinay informed the floor that he is planning to call an HRD speaker sometime in June. Details will be communicated over mail.

Tr. Anunay informed that the webblog has again been updated with the latest events and reports. The blog has been given a new look with a colorful header.

Tr. Manmohan informed that RTI has some old stock of greeting cards which it is willing to dispose off at attractive discounts (Rs.3.50 /-).

• Project Health Check up is being effectively co-ordinated by Tr. Kunal. He requested the Tablers to go for check ups and make the project meaningful. He also informed that the check up can be undertaken specially for Tabling families on Sunday .

FUNDRAISING

None

FTE PROJECTS

Tablers have visited our projects - Kazi Nazrul , Vishwanathpur SSK , Milan Vidyapeeth, Hansia Bagdipara and ICDS during the last two weeks and discussed the progress at the meeting. Tr. Kunal and Manish informed the progress at Kazi Nazrul. Tr. Mitesh recalled his experience at Vishwanthpur. Progress at these projects is good and expected to complete by the last week of June. Tr. Samrendra thanked all tablers for visiting the projects and encouraged others to visit at least once to get a feel of community service activities we are doing. He stressed upon the fact that “although the cost of these projects are a couple of lacs the value is much more”.

EXTENSION

Prospectives Vinay and Piyush have been attending the meetings and events of the Table and the floor expressed their approval to induct them into the Table.

CONVENER’S REPORTS FELLOWSHIP

• U Me Aur Hum : Tr. Manish invited RTI President Tr. Pranay and Area IV Chairman Tr. Zishan alongwith our very own first couple Tr. Manmohan & Cr. Vishu for his U Me aur Hum session at his residence on 25th April 2009. Other folder is with Tr. Vivek who is expected to move it forward at the earliest.

• IPL Socials hosted by Tr. Manish / Cr. Archana with Tr. Bobby / Cr. Visakha alongwith HT Rajiv from RT 4 at SOHOs on 24th April 2009 immediately after our 23rd meeting (joint with RT4) was well attended by the Tablers / Circlers from tables across Kolkata. Of course, Prez. Tr. Pranay and AVC Tr. Zishan were there in full spirit to grace the occasion.

• CPRT 34 Premier league , a competition based on IPL by Tr. Kunal is continuing in full swing. Tr. Kunal’s efforts and enthusiasm were applauded at the meeting.

• Area Geet Meet : Tr. Prashant & Cr. Payal participated in the Geet Meet on 2.5.09 organized by RT 41. Tr. Manmohan congratulated them for coming forward and participating in the event . The event was attended by Trs. Kunal, Manish, Prashant , Rajesh A, Rohit B , Rohit T and Vinay K. Circlers

from LC46 also attended the event.

• Let’s Vote Fellowship – 35 Tablers and Circlers went for a morning walk in Victoria Memorial followed by Samosas, Namkins and Tea at Russel Street Tea shop early at 6.30 am. There was a proposal to go for a walk on 12.05.09 at Horticulture Gardens. Tr. Rajesh A. volunteered to organize the same.

• Area Bowling organized by RT 106 was attended by Brijesh, Kunal, Manish, Manmohan, Prashant, Rajesh A, Rajesh S, Rohit T, Sundeep, Vivek and our circlers and we won the Tabler and Circler Categories in Bowling.

• Area Cricket organized by RT 4 was attended by Brijesh, Kunal, Manish, Manmohan, Ravi, Rohit B, Sundeep, Bobby and Area Jewel Sq Leg Samir. We gave a very tough fight to RT 4 in the only match we played and lost by 7 runs. The match was very strategically played and those who were there enjoyed every moment of it.

SERGEANT’s REPORT

Tr. Aditya Baheti has expressed his inability to continue as a Tabler and sent his resignation to the Table. The floor accepted the same . Tr. Manmohan attended GRMD Finals where our LC46 Chairperson Cr.Vishu won the duet competition Tr. Pallob of RT 113. Tr. Manmohan attended LC 65 Women Achiever’s Award at Rotary Sadan and was invited by Chairperson LC65 to present an award to an awardee. HTs Pankaj , Sumit and Sanjay congratulated the incoming Head Board. They also applauded the excellent activities of the Table. HT Sanjay also informed that the 41ers Club will be chartered on 20th June 2009. Tr. Manmohan congratulated the HTs on behalf of the table .

Tr. Kunal reported a sunshine of Rs. 100.

Although we did not receive print publicity for Lets Vote, we did manage to create an awareness amongst morning walkers at Victoria about the movement . IPL Social was publicized in “Kolkata Times” Page 3 of Times of India - a leading daily.
