What makes a Group retreat kit so special? What is a retreat kit?It’s everything you need to plan and lead a women’s retreat wherever you like, in one simple kit! Looking inside each session…Women can savor sweet moments with God and each other!

Session 1- God’s grace is extravagant.You’ll begin your time together with worship, and the Worship Leader will help women get into small groups they’ll stay with throughout the retreat. Then women enjoy a time of laughter and getting to know each other better, before they delve into the first miracle of Jesus—turning water to wine—recorded in John 2. This miracle will begin the exploration of the extravagance of God’s grace.

Note: This first session lasts about an hour and a half. The remaining sessions are all about 45 minutes long.

Session 2 - God’s extravagant grace is for our friends. After a time of singing and worship, the focus of this session moves to extending grace to our friends. Women will laugh during a funny retelling of the miracle from Mark 2—of the friends lowering their paralyzed friend through the roof so Jesus could heal him—and be challenged to consider what it means to be a friend who brings others to Jesus.

At Café Chocolat, women will delight in the extravagant grace of God as they explore how it is evident in their own lives and in the lives of others. Using chocolate as a metaphor (and sometimes to eat!), women will be drawn closer to Jesus through worship, discussion, quiet reflection, Christian service, and more.

Session 3 - God’s extravagant grace is for those we don’t know. We know that women care deeply about ser vice and spreading God’s love by making a difference. This session includes a service project so women can extend God’s grace to those they don’t even know. Each woman will create a gift for a local nursing home or ministry to the elderly, plus spend time in prayer for those who will receive these gifts of love.

Session 4 - God’s extravagant grace is for our enemies.It can be easy to think of God’s grace for our friends but much more challenging to consider that God’s grace is also for our enemies. Through an exploration of the miracle of Jesus healing the ear of a man set on arresting and killing him (from Luke 22 and John 18), women discover the true depth of God’s grace and are personally challenged to forgive someone who has made life bitter for them.

Session 5 - Reflect on God’s extravagant grace. We all need quiet times of prayer and time to reflect on God’s Word to let it sink into our hearts. As women taste different chocolates, they will use their journals for a guided time of pondering God’s grace as it relates to their own lives. This session gives women some much needed alone time with God.

Session 6 - God’s extravagant grace is for you. The final session of the retreat focuses on the miracle of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Using Luke 23 and other Scriptures, this miracle will be seen in a very personal way. Women will be led through an activity that will help them consider the implications of sin and how Jesus’ amazing miracle covered it all, bringing God’s grace to their own lives.
