The CRT Bacteria Caries Risk Test makes

bacteria visible. Micro-organisms, mutans

streptococci, and lactobacilli in particular

play a decisive role in the development of

caries. They can harm both healthy as well

as restored teeth.

Consequently, it is very important to gather

information about the existence of these

micro-organisms as early as possible and on

a regular basis.

The CRT Bacteria Caries Risk Test facilitates

the detection of mutans streptococci and

lactobacilli in saliva.

ADVANTAGES FOR CAD/CAM:

F Provides preventive plan to ensure

long term clinical success of the

IPS EMPRESS CAD LEUCITE-REINFORCED GLASS CERAMIC BLOCK FOR CAD/CAM DENTISTRY

IPS Empress® CAD is the esthetic leucite-reinforced glass ceramic for the

efficient fabrication of single-unit restorations through CAD/CAM

technology. By optimizing the manufacturing processes, a new material

was created with more homogeneous leucite crystal distribution providing a

glass ceramic with an increased flexural strength of 160 MPa.

IPS EMPRESS CAD HT (HIGH TRANSLUCENCY)

Features a high degree of translucency, making the HT blocks ideally

suited for the fabrication of smaller restorations (e.g. inlays and onlays).

Restorations fabricated with the HT blocks demonstrate true-to-nature

chameleon effect and outstanding adaptation to the residual tooth

structure. The blocks simulate the life-like fluorescence in order to permit

optimum integration into the natural residual tooth structure.

IPS EMPRESS CAD LT (LOW TRANSLUCENCY)

Features a lower degree of translucency, making them ideal for most full

coverage restorations (e.g. full crowns, large partial coverage restorations,

and veneers). The LT blocks are less translucent, which makes them appear

higher in value, therefore resulting in a brighter restoration.

IPS EMPRESS CAD MULTI

With multiple translucencies and a balanced blend of chroma from gingival

to incisal, IPS Empress CAD Multi offers dental professionals a fusion of

color that provides the natural gradients to replicate dentin and enamel in

a single block.

With the proven high strength (160 MPa) of IPS Empress CAD leucite-

reinforced glass ceramic, the IPS Empress CAD Multi can be either polished

or glazed to obtain maximum functional and esthetic results. IPS Empress

CAD Multi is available in the most popular A-D shades. They are ideal for

the fabrication of full and partial coverage restorations as well as veneers.

ADVANTAGES FOR CAD/CAM:

The goal with the IPS Empress CAD line is to

continue the tradition of excellence in esthetics

and function utilizing simple, predictable and

effective techniques. Following are four ways to

replicate natural chromas and translucencies:

INTERNAL CHARACTERIZATION

A basic internal characterization can be easily

achieved using Tetric Color by simply applying a

thin layer on the desired internal area and then

light-curing it. Tetric

Color is applied after

etching and silanating

the ceramic.

EXTERNAL CHARACTERIZATION

A more refined characterization can be obtained

when using IPS Empress Universal Shades and

Stains. Shade/Stain application can be combined

with Glazing in a one-step technique, then rapidly

fired using the

Programat® P300

or Programat®

P500.

CUT-BACK TECHNIQUE

The most sophisticated technique involves

layering porcelain over the milled and reduced

IPS Empress CAD restoration to obtain a range

of translucencies and colors. This can be achieved

using IPS Empress Esthetics Veneer Layering Materials.

This technique combines wash pastes, layering

porcelains and

glaze processed

in a porcelain

furnace.

IPS EMPRESS CAD MULTI BLOCK

The IPS Empress CAD Multi Block offers a

multiplicity of translucencies and a fusion of color

embedded in the block. The dental professional

can either simply

polish or glaze the

restoration.

IPS Empress Esthetic Veneer Layering Materials are

reinforced layering materials for the “cut-back”

technique. In this technique, the fully anatomical

IPS Empress CAD restorations (veneers and anterior

crowns) are reduced and dentin mamelon structures

are created in the incisal third and are subsequently

completed using materials in the paste and powder

form. In this way, a life-like and esthetic incisal

third is designed.

The IPS Empress Esthetic Veneer Layering Materials

feature an incisal-like fluorescence and true-to-

nature opalescence. High stability and excellent

modelling properties enable detailed layering of

life-like incisal edges.

INDICATIONS

F Highly esthetic layering in the incisal third of

EXCITE® - SINGLE-COMPONENT ADHESIVE

Excite is an alcohol-based light-curing single-component bonding agent for enamel and

dentin bonding.

As Excite contains ethanol as the solvent, the adhesive is highly tolerant of different

working techniques and moisture conditions of dentin. Unlike acetone-based bonding

agents, Excite does not evaporate too quickly when the bottle is open.

The nanometric fillers ensure a visible glossy coat during the application of Excite.

This glossy coat enables the operator to check the coverage of the adhesive layer.

Because of their small size, the particles are able to penetrate into opened dentinal

tubules. A polymerized coat of Excite is less than eight micrometers thick.

Consequently, polymerization prior to the cementation of indirect restorations

does not compromise the accuracy of fit.

ADVANTAGES FOR CAD/CAM

F One step application

F Very low film thickness - does not affect fit

F High bond strength

EXCITE® DSC - DUAL-CURE SINGLE-COMPONENT ADHESIVE

Excite DSC is a dual-curing single-component adhesive. Excite DSC is suitable for use in

conjunction with dual and self-curing luting composites and restorative and core build-

up composites. Therefore, it can be used in situations where a curing light is ineffective.

ADVANTAGES FOR CAD/CAM

F Easy preparation - single-dose and single component

F Easy and quick - application in one layer, no light-curing required

F More convenient processing - no mixing, no light-curing, no interference

with the accuracy of fit of the restoration

F High economic efficiency - the single-dose form of application ensures hygiene

and fresh adhesive for each application
