C3 Learning provides their online students with a quality education using Odysseyware (OW) as the curriculum provider which is asynchronous and available 24/7. C3 Learning’s goal is to provide students, K-12, with a quality education. We provide locally Pennsylvania certified instructors, the opportunity for a flexible schedule and an overall positive learning experience. Courses will be selected in conjunction with established CASD course requirements. Students must be registered CASD students in order to participate in C3 Learning and will be registered in a building. Attendance, promotion and graduation requirements of the district will be upheld. As a CASD student, students are eligible for school pictures, athletic participation, and activity participation, that take place before/after the normal school day. Elementary and middle school students may elect to participate in related arts within their buildings with special permission from the building principal. If taking part in these activities, it is recommended that all students obtain a photo student ID at the time of annual school pictures. CASD Customized Cyber (C3) Learning is a non-traditional, online program provided by CASD that recognizes every student has a unique way of learning. Is cyber learning a good educational path

for your child?Students must be responsible, disciplined, self-directed and self-motivated. Students are required to commit to following active learning terms to meet compulsory attendance requirements:Kindergarten– Grade 2: a recommended minimum of 2 hours daily.Grades 3-12: a recommended minimum of 4 hours daily or submission of daily assignments

Students must meet daily deadlines (established in the lesson plan), reply to OW and email messages, test at CASHS library, attend any scheduled progress monitoring meetings and participate in state assessments (offered in home building).

Parents must register for an OW guardian account, monitor grades, progress and attendance terms daily, provide transportation to testing/tutoring at CASHS library and to state assessments at the student’s home building, attend any scheduled progress monitoring meetings and actively support student learning.

Student and parent must be computer literate (possess keyboarding skills, navigate websites, use of software), have internet reliability and an accessible device or Loaner Chromebook.

Elementary (3rd-5th)Elementary students will maintain 5 OW courses throughout the entire year: ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies and Related Arts. Students must also participate in state PSSA assessments (homebuilding) in the spring.

Middle School (6th-8th)Middle school students will maintain 4 OW courses throughout the entire year, with the addition of 1 elective course each semester. Students must also participate in state PSSA assessments (home building) in the spring.

High School (9th-12th)One credit courses will be taken for 36 weeks. Students also will select 0.5 credit courses from the following categories: General Electives, Physical Education, and Career and Technical Education. These 0.5 credit courses will be offered in 9 or 18 weeks. High school students must obtain 23 credits based on CASD’s graduation requirements. Students must also score proficient in the state Keystone exams (Algebra I, Biology and Literature) or complete the alternative assessment process. Both are completed through the home building in January and May.
