Licenses for external packages. What packages can be used? (BYPASS?) Need policy stmt.

EDG Usage Guidelines

Site usage guidelines present logistical problem for EDG operation.

Have official translation from CERN translation service. Need to “finalize” version before EDG release.

Sit down with a few people to incorporate comments.

Need “official” location for document like license.

(Frascati) Schedule

October 22 First beta release of DataGrid (CERN & Lyon)

November 15 Initial limited application testing finished.

EDG software ready for deployment on partner sites.

November 30 Widespread deployment.

ITeam machines form development grid.

Testbed 1 open to all applications.

December 25 Testbed 1 finished.

Site schedule to take into account application priorities.Cannot include US sites until acceptable US CA exists.

Globus Status

Many EDG releases lately Alpha9-Alpha12

Combination of Globus/EDG fixes.

Added Netlogger in latest release.

See severe problems with Globus IO in latest versions.

Aside from problems: JobManager works with PBS, LSF.

FTree works with information providers (Info. Providers being debugged)

MDS configured.

Job submissions between CERN & Lyon.

Immediate Plans

Get minimally functional Globus2 distribution.

Incorporate WP1 tools.

Get authorization scheme in place (grid mapfile)

Develop test suite.

Develop documentation User’s Guide Installation Guide Developer’s Guide

Setup CERN machines with PBS, LSF “sites”, with MDS hierarchy.

Let “loose cannons” onto DataGrid.
