Symptom
Humidity setpoint control instability, system will not reach setpoint control at dryer humiditysetpoints, 10% RH. Unstable flow setpoint control actual.
Cause
Two motorized valves maintain humidity setpoint control in the 2500. The Flow Valve (V1)and Expansion Valve (V2) both valves are designed with o-rings that require inspection andmaintenance. O-ring wear or damage can cause instability of the saturation pressure controland flow control stability of the 2500.
Solution
Replacement of the o-rings in the flow and expansion valve assemblies can be accomplishedwith the following illustrated procedure. Tech Note TSD#0205 and TSD#0206. The partnumber for the replacement o-rings is VI-P4T-K2. Replacement o-rings can be purchasedfrom Thunder Scientific Corp. Please contact Thunder Tech Support at 1-800-872-7728 ore-mail [email protected] should you have problems or questions while usingthis procedure. Please e-mail your comments and suggestions to [email protected].
Options For Prevention
Yearly inspection of the o-rings installed in the flow and expansion valves, plus lubrication ofthe o-rings with Dow Corning silicon grease number 111, will be helpful in maintainingproper operation of your system.
