to meet him and get autographs!
Mounted Games practice Sunday 4th December - This will all be a morning session -
available for any member who is keen to have a go at
games or who wants to be considered for our MG teams.
Keep an eye out on the online booking in system.
Riding and Road Safety Exam Peak will be running a riding and road safety exam soon. Some of you may
have already achieved your mini road rider or road riding achievement
badges. This exam is the final stage of road riding in the pony club, and
gives you a certificate which you need to progress onto your C+ exams and
above. If you are riding at or working towards you C or C+ levels then you
should definitely consider taking this exam.
Working Hunter open show 27th Nov – Schedule soon! Don’t forget our annual working hunter open show at Adlington is fast approaching! Get those boots
polished, tweed jackets cleaned and pony’s clipped/trimmed ready for the eagle eye of the judge
Leanne Mitchell. Leanne Mitchell is a local producer and former pony club member. Keep an eye out

Christmas Rallies! December is the month of all things tinsel, baubles and Christmas jumpers! Our on foot rally on the
9th December will embrace this theme and chocolate prizes will go to the best Christmas outfit! At
the ridden rally on the 17th there will be fancy dress and mounted games for younger members, and
a jumping and Chase-me-Charlie session for older members.
LAST CHANCE - Spanish Riding School of Vienna – 20th Nov Last chance to get your tickets! This is your chance to see the stunning Spanish riding school
performing in Birmingham later this month. Very few tickets left – these tickets cost £53 each, which
is a 20% discount on the normal price of central seats! There is no transport provided on this
occasion, you will have to make your own way or organise lift shares. Please contact Louise
Tunnicliffe ASAP to grab the last tickets!
Liverpool International trip – 2nd January Social Secretary Louise Tunnicliffe has organised a fantastic trip to the Liverpool International Horse
Show in the New Year for Peak members! The coach will leave from Macclesfield, and you will arrive
in time to do a few hours shopping before enjoying the evening performance at 6pm! Star
attractions for the evening include the Shetland Grand National, International Show Jumping, an
ABBA tribute and a ‘Chariots of fire’ four-in-hand carriage driving final. The cost (ticket and coach) is
£28 per adult, and £20 per child, and you can pay for your tickets through the online booking system
used for rallies. Please let Louise Tunnicliffe how many tickets you would like ASAP to reserve your
spot!
Winter rallies etiquette As you know we hold our winter rallies using the indoor school at Adlington EC – however we do not
hire the outdoor school facility. Adlington have kindly requested that members do not use the
outdoor school at any time during our winter rallies. Thank you!
Time to engrave those trophies! Time to get your trophies engraved – remember to engrave for 2015! We will start to recall trophies
in mid-December, so keep an eye out for details!
Who doesn’t love a good Pony story? Over the next few months Romy will be
introducing her favourite pony books to you – something to keep you
entertained when it gets too dark to ride after school!

FANCY A GO AT WINTER LEAGUE SHOW JUMPING? It’s the call to arms! (Or jumps….). Dates have now been released on the area 4 website for each
round of the winter league show jumping held at Osbaldeston. If you are interested in being part of
a show jumping team then please contact Zoe Bowden, who will be Chef d’Equipe for the team and

WHY NOT TRY WINTER LEAGUE DRESSAGE? With classes for everyone – including walk and trot tests! – there is no reason not
to turn your hoof to some dressage this winter! The winter league dressage dates
are on the area 4 website. This is both a team and an individual event, with
classes for beginners through to pony club open, and includes qualifiers for the
Dengie Winter League dressage competition (last year senior member Ellie Hall
represented Peak at the national championships!). If you are interested please

TEST YOUR KNOWLEDGE IN THE QUIZ TEAM Winter gets cold, dark and usually wet, and doesn’t leave much time for
riding. Why not get involved with the quiz teams this winter and brush
up on your horsey and general knowledge? The quiz is usually in
February, and we hold practices/training sessions leading up to the
competition. If you are aged 10 or over and are interested in trying quiz

SENIOR TRAINING DAY WITH HILARY WAKEFIELD Please arrive at New Barn (WA16 8SZ) by 9.30 ready for a 9.45 start. You will be told on arrival if your
group will be riding first or doing position work. Please remember to bring yourselves a packed lunch
(a thermos of tea probably wouldn’t be bad idea either!). Bring the appropriate tack/bits/boots etc.
for both flat and jumping sessions.
We’d like to see lots of photos of members enjoying the day, so remember to bring a phone/camera
with you as well!
AREA TRAINING OPPORTUNITY BHS STAGE 3 AND 4 TRAINING Of interest to older members studying for the higher
level Pony Club tests (B test and beyond), several Pony Club centres in Areas 4 and 5
now offer BHS Stage 3 and 4 training.
Cheshire Riding School (Pony Club Centre)
is now holding monthly exam training with Sarah Simpson BHSI. Sarah is a BHS Chief
Assessor and regularly trains for higher levels including the Stage 4, ITT, Stable
Managers and Senior Equitation and Coaching.
The day consists of flatwork and jumping in the morning followed by three hours of
Stable Management in the afternoon. There may be the opportunity to ride and receive
training and feedback.
