System that records and analyzes a persons movement while they are doing various exercises
Used by doctors, physical therapists, athletic trainers etc. to pinpoint deficiencies in their patients and recommend treatment plans
What is OptoGait?
Exercises usually consist of running, jumping or walking
Ex: squat jumps, marching, single leg jumps
Exercises can be done on the ground or (in the case of running/walking) on a treadmill
How do you use OptoGait?
OptoGait helps patients discovers which muscles they may be favoring
Creating a better balance in your movement decreases pain from movement-related injuries and increases performance in athletes
Symmetry
Records a patients movement with a transmitting and receiving bar
Each has 96 LED’s (can vary) which communicate on an infrared frequency
OptoGait Technology:
Cameras also record the patients movement and sync in with the transmitting and receiving bars so the patient can see where the deficiency occurred

User receives graphical, numerical, and video feedback of their results
Values are based off of left or right side Analysis provides information on the users
asymmetry in their movement through comparison with averages
Standard Deviation and variability Coefficient also provide data about any imbalances
OptoGait Analysis:
Gait Analysis Report:
Analyzes Lengths, Gait Parameters, Time Parameters, & Speed Parameters
The information OptoGait records gets transferred to a personal profile which can be used for comparison for later tests
Any important information about that patient can be added to a patients profile (ie: photo, age, weight, previous injuries etc.)
Personal Profiles:
Jopson says, “It helped me see some weaknesses in my running that I was not aware of and could improve on. I have a longer stride on my left leg than my right when I’m barefoot.”
