SummaryIn this non-fiction book I learned about some of world’s

most deadliest animals. Some of the obvious animals were lions, snakes and polar bears. Lions hunt in groups called prides and the male lion always eats first. Snakes use venom to kill prey. The Hook-nosed Sea Snake can kill a person with just one drop of venom. Polar bears find a hole in the ice and wait for a seal to come up for air. When the seal comes up, the polar bear grabs it with his sharp teeth. Some of the surprising deadliest animals were the red kangaroos and the mosqito. When the red kangaroo feels threatened it will kick so hard it could collapse a persons lungs! The most surprising fact was that the mosquito is considered the deadliest animal of all. Each year, 2 to 3 million people die from diseases transmitted by mosquitoes. One thing for sure is I do not want to come into contact with any of the animals in this book.

RecommendationI think this is a good book if you like to read

about interesting animals. If you don’t like pictures of animals eating their prey, you may not like this book.

I learned that size is not always what makes an animal deadly. Some of the smallest animals are the most dangerous. This includes the mosquito, poison dart frog, honeybees, and scorpions. I don’t want to run into any of these in my backyard!

An interesting career that I learned about in this book is a specially trained chef. The chef prepares the deadly fish called the puffer fish. Sometimes they make mistakes in cooking this fish and about 100 people die each year. At a sushi restaurant they call it fugu. My family does not eat sushi so I don’t have to worry about it.
