We have a number of things happening in our common life, and this week I want to make sure that you have all the important dates for the upcoming months. 1. The final day to turn in your deacon ballot isTHIS SUNDAY. I hope that you will take the time to think and pray about your decision as you cast a vote for ten men and women in our church who are willing to help lead us into the future. 2. Do not forget about your pledge cards! How you use your time, talent, treasure, and testimony have a direct impact on the ministry of FBC Augusta. Think about what God is calling you to give this year and turn in your pledge on Sunday morning. 3. Our Thanksgiving celebration, the First Family Thanksgiving Feast, will be held on Sunday, November 19 at 5:00 in the Fellowship Hall. The kitchen is providing the turkey and each of us needs to bring a side! This is going to be a wonderful time for all of us to be together. Please make plans to join us. 4. On December 3 at 7:00 in our Sanctuary, we will be hosting a Classic Christmas concert with David Phelps. I spoke to Susan at the front desk yesterday and she mentioned that tickets are selling fast. You can get your ticket on Sunday morning after worship, atWednesday night dinner, or come by the church Monday-Friday. 5. “Christmas at First Baptist” will be held on Sunday evening, December 10 at 7:00 in our Sanctuary. I have seen the presentation that Kurt is preparing and I can assure you that you do not want to miss this service! 6. “A Night of Wonder” presented by our children’s choirs Sunday, December 17 at 6:30 p.m. Don’t miss this special night. Finally, this Sunday we begin a two week series on the Kingdom of God. We are going to look at two of Jesus’ parables about how the Kingdom is present even in our midst today. I hope to see you on Sunday morning. Grace and Peace, Will
