Open answer questions and comments

Comments about the course objectives--I really liked how Professor Townsend would quickly revisit what we learned in the previous classbefore starting on new material. He did a great job meeting all course objectives. (EIHB)--Great objectives (DJDG)--The objectives were made incredibly clear and we followed them consistently throughout the course.(FJEB)--well planned (EJAA)--The course objectives were clearly outlines at the beginning of each class, however I'm not sure whatwe accomplished as a whole over the course of the semester (FICD)

Comments about the course materials and assignments--I think less words on your powerpoints would make them easier to understand. Otherwise everythingwas great. (EIHB)--I really enjoyed the mix of readings and assignments. (FJEB)--sometimes materials got repetitive (EJAA)--Great, found them really interesting. Sometimes a little reading heavy though. (AHIJ)

Comments about the field studies--Really unique and interesting field studies. (EIHB)--Excellent field studies! Especially the trip to IKEA center in Sweden. (AIEF)--Really cool! I loved meeting with the windmill company! (DJDG)--I loved visiting IKEA's office in Malmo, it was a really engaging experience. I'm so glad we went. (AIDJ)--We had some incredible opportunities on our field studies!! (FJEB)--great field studies very relevant for the subject (DJFF)--all very relevant (EJAA)--They were interesting, but I think could have been more interesting. The IKEA visit was AWESOMEthough. Don't change that one. That was so cool and a great way to see everything we were learning inreal life. (AHIJ)

What were the highlights of this course?--Going through IKEA was a fantastic experience. (FICI)--The highlights of this course were the visit to IKEA Hubholt and the everyday lectures. Mike was agreat teacher who kept the class and students very engaged! (IJIE)--Writing the final white paper was really interesting, honestly just coming into class everyday wasinteresting. We studied a lot of ideas I had never considered before. (EIHB)--Field study at the IKEA World Meeting Center in Malmo Field study at Vestas (IIEE)--Excellent class! Field studies, case studies and classwork we're all very helpful for learning. (AIEF)--Michael is an awesome passionate teacher. I also like the setup how we learned and then really got toapply what we learned. (DJDG)--Both field studies, interactive group work, engaging professor. (AIDJ)--Mike was a great professor for this course and was so knowledgable of the material (FIEI)--The field studies were amazing. I also really enjoyed the group work we did. This class also helped mesee a different perspective to sustainable development and got me thinking outside the box. (FJEB)--the material learnedfield studiesenergetic professor (DJFF)--field studies and classes everyday. (EJAA)--The field study to IKEA (FICD)--Our field studies were very informative and interesting. (DJIH)--Mike was an enthusiastic and engaging professor! Best I had at DIS (DJCF)--IKEA field study. Also I really enjoyed the guest speaker we had. As weird as this sounds, I just reallylooked forward to going to class everyday. (AHIJ)

If the course were to be revised, what important aspects would you retain? What importantaspects would you change?--I really enjoyed this class. I wish that we were a closer class and i got to know Mike more, he seemedlike a great person. (FICI)--I would retain the course material, but maybe condense it a little so that we weren't always runningout of time at the end of sessions! (IJIE)--One thing that I would definitely change is allowing students to use their computer during class. I knowthat some people use it to take notes, but most people just zone out and go on facebook if they have theoption to have their computer in front of them. It takes away from the classroom discussion wheneveryone is on their computer. (EIHB)--I was very satisfied with the course format and reading materials. Classes had a great balance oflecture and group work. I wouldn't change anything about the course. (IIEE)--Only drawback of the class was that it occasionally became repetitive. Perhaps include more in-classbreakout "problem solving" activities. (AIEF)--I think looking at each industry was really cool and helpful. Honestly I wouldn't change anything exceptthat some classes had one more reading than nesecary (DJDG)--I would ask him to more clearly outline the expectations of some of his assignments (FIEI)--I enjoyed the whole thing. (FJEB)--try to mix up the lectures (EJAA)--I felt the content was a bit repetitive and very theoretical. I would have liked to talk more aboutpractical changes (FICD)--I would incorporate more policy perspective and the role of regulation in businesses (DJIH)--More groupwork! (DJCF)--Not sure I would change anything. I think it works really, really well. (AHIJ)

Comments about Faculty 1: Michael Townsend (Mike)--Incredible teacher (IIAI)--Professor Townsend was amazing. One of the best professors I've ever had. He was always veryapproachable and open and understanding, yet knew the subject matter incredibly well and was superpassionate. Great guy overall. (EIHB)--Wonderful job! I didn't mind it, but I know other students thought that the class could be littlerepetitive. But I thought the repetitiveness really ingrained the values and concepts into my head (DJDG)--By far the best professor I had at DIS. So well prepared, and engaging. (FJEB)--great smart prof (EJAA)--Great and swift feedback on assignments- there were no surprises (DJCF)--AMAZING. Best teacher I had at DIS hands down, and one of the best professors I have had throughmy college career. He was so engaging, really cared about us and the work we were doing, and madethe whole class so much more interesting than I thought it would be. His feedback on assignments wasso helpful - it was clear he actually read everything we turned in and wanted us to think even beyondwhat we found. I learned the most in this class at DIS. He also is clearly really good at doing this, andis well respected by a lot of people. That makes learning from him so much more interesting, and Ireally feel that I gained so much valuable information from him. (AHIJ)
