Straight-set victories for Barbados and Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica, November 29, 2012. - Barbados and Jamaica obtained

two straight-set victories each in opening day at the NORCECA Group E

First Round Women's FIVB 2014 World Championship qualifier taking place

at the University of Technology "UTECH" of Jamaica.

Barbados and Jamaica finished the first day of the two-day event undefeated

and qualified for the second round of the world championship qualification

tournaments to take place in 2013.

In the opening match, Barbados defeated Aruba 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-7) and

in the afternoon prevailed over Cayman Islands 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-6).

Jamaica made their debut against Cayman Islands with victory by 3-0 (25-7,

25-15, 25-14) and later defeated Aruba 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-17).

afternoon prevailed over Cayman Islands 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-6). Jamaica made their

debut against Cayman Islands with victory by 3-0 (25-7, 25-15, 25-14) and later

defeated Aruba 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-17).

Both will meet on Friday morning to define the first place of the round-robin phase and

the finals will be held at night. Aruba and Cayman Islands will battle for the last spot

available.

Femenino de la FIVB 2014

que se celebra en la

Universidad de Tecnología

“UTECH” de Jamaica.

Barbados y Jamaica

finalizaron el primer día de dos que dura el evento de forma invicta y clasificaron a la

segunda ronda de los torneos clasificatorios al campeonato mundial a realizarse en el

2013.

En el juego inaugural, Barbados derrotó a Aruba por 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-7) y en la

tarde se impuso a Islas Caimán 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-6). Jamaica debutó ante Islas

Caimán con victoria por 3-0 (25-7, 25-15, 25-14) y luego derrotó a Aruba 3-0 (25-12,

25-10, 25-17).

Ambos se enfrentarán el viernes por la mañana para definir el primer lugar de la fase

de clasificación y las finales se disputarán por la noche. Aruba e Islas Caimán

disputaran la última plaza disponible.
