The Origin of Hinduism Hinduism originated over 3,000 years ago. It is not a single unified religion and has no founder, single teacher, nor prophets. Hindus believe in a universal soul or God called Brahman.

Hindus recognize one God, Brahman, the eternal origin who is the cause and foundation of all existence. The gods of the Hindu faith represent different expressions of Brahman. Different Hindu communities may have their own divinities whom they worship, but these are simply different ways of approaching the Ultimate.

The Hindu spirit, inspired by no one man or woman in particular, is best captured in a line from the ancient Rig Veda:

"Truth is One, though the Sages know it as Many."

— The Rig Veda (Book I, Hymn CLXIV, Verse 46)

Bare Essentials of Hinduism

Hindus believe in a universal soul or God called Brahman. There are many other deities such as Krishna, Shiva, Rama and Durga. Hindus believe that existence is a cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, governed by Karma.

Hindu worship is primarily an individual act rather than a communal one, as it involves making personal offerings to the deity.Worshippers repeat the names of their favourite gods and goddesses, and repeat mantras. Water, fruit, flowers and incense are offered to God.

III.III. HimalayasHimalayas

Himalayan Mountain stretches from India, Nepal, Bhutan, and China’s Tibet. It has 10 highest peaks of the world, out of which 8 are the part of Nepalese Himalayas.

Five major mountains that form the main chunk of the Himalayan Mountains are K2 (Austin Godwin), Nanga Parbat Peak, Qomolangma, Annapurna and Kanchenjunga.

III.III. Himalayas Himalayas

Himalaya is a Sanskrit word meaning, "abode of snow", which is so true. The snowfields which dominate many of the peaks in the Himalayas are permanent. They never melt (not even in the summer). That means there are glaciers in the Himalayas—lots of them. Qomolangma is permanently covered in a layer of ice, topped with snow. The "top" of the mountain at which the elevation was measured can vary as much as twenty feet or more, depending on how much snow has fallen on its peak.

III.III. Himalayas Himalayas

K2 peak is locally known as "Chogo Ri", which means "The Great Mountain", at 8,611 m from sea level, is the 2nd highest mountain in the world.

K2 stretches from Pakistan to China border in the mighty Karakoram range.

K2 is a rocky mountain up to 6,000 m, beyond which it becomes an ocean of snow.

Qomolangma is the highest mountain in the world. It rises to a height of 8844.43 meters above sea level. The mountain is in the Himalaya range, on the frontiers of China’s Tibet and Nepal, north of India. Surveyors agree that Qomolangma is over 29,000 feet tall, but disagree on its exact height. A British government survey in the middle 1800's set the height at 29,002 feet.

Although the moon has not had great prominence in the history of religion, the worship of it has been known since earliest recorded time—in the oldest literatures of Egypt, Babylonia, India, and China—and still exists today in various parts of the world, particularly among certain African and Native American groups.

Moon worship is founded on the belief that the phases of the moon and the growth and decline of plant, animal, and human life are related. In some societies food was laid out at night to absorb the rays of the moon, which were thought to have power to cure disease and prolong life.

The religion of Islam has as its focus of worship a deity by the name of "Allah". The Muslims claim that Allah in pre-Islamic times was the biblical God of the Patriarchs, prophets, and apostles. As we shall see, the hard evidence demonstrates that he was the Moon-god who was married to the sun goddess and the stars were his daughters.
