(ut the person on his or her back following the head/body line on a !rm surface. 0nfasten belts% untiebuttons and loosen any tight clothing to avoidshortness of breathing.
(ut your palm on the persons forehead and gentlytilt the head back. Then with the other hand% gently
lift the chin forward to open the airway.

Classi!cation of severity: burnsare classi!ed according to theirdepth.
$irst degree burnheepidermal layer is reddened.
Second degree burn: burn ischaracterioak the burn with abundant
cold water for 16 minutes.+over the injury with a sterileburns sheet. $t should besoaked in water or serum.Bold the bandage. $t mustnot be pressed on the burn.
