Tightening industrial wastewater rules and regulations are presenting new and challenging problems for the food & beverage industry. Outdated technology, rising energy costs, growing municipality fees and the increased use of chemicals is resulting in diminishing returns. Compliance with todays standards will require a new treatment paradigm.

INDUSTRY PROBLEM

By incorporating a technical leap forward that empowers a small, robust, high-efficiency reactor to control the power of cavitation, the BCR has the ability to manage industrial-scale waste streams using only a small amount of mechanical energy. By reducing or eliminating the use of expensive chemicals, the BCR changes everything from how we break emulsions, separate FOG and TSS, manage or reduce BOD and COD, kill bacteria, recycle waste and reclaim water.

THE SOLUTIONBrute Water Solutions, LLC (BWS) develops solutions and applications for FOG separation, BOD and COD reduction, solids removal, and bacteria kill. We manufacture, supply and install proprietary wastewater treatment technology and equipment for the food & beverage industry. The Brute Cavitation Reactor (BCR) is the company’s “catalyst” technology and is the cornerstone for each in-field solution.

CAVITATION is the microscopic formation and violent collapse of vapor cavities that occur when a liquid is subjected to a rapid reduction in pressure.

When low pressure cavities transition to a high pressure, they implode and generate intense shock waves, light emission, and localized regions of extremely high temperatures releasing free radicals and uniformly disrupting everything in their path.

A Return On Investment (ROI) of two years or less can be expected where process wastewater is discharged and treatment is required to prevent FOG, BOD, COD and bad bacteria from entering the sewer system. BRUTE’s objective is to reduce surcharges and fees, eliminate or reduce chemical costs and reduce energy consumption by increasing efficiency.

SAVINGS / ROI

Clean water is required for production and cleaning purposes in manufacturing processes. For economic and environmental reasons, water should be recirculated and reused, in which case contaminates like FOGs, floating and suspended solids, and dissolved components need to be separated to provide good and uniform water quality. BOD and COD reduction, bacteria kill and in some cases the recovery of valuable by-products may also be a top priority.

Grease traps or gravity clarifiers are often incapable of achieving sufficient pre-treatment and dissolved air flotation (DAF) with pressure water recirculation has proven effective but not sufficient. BRUTE’s catalyst system can be used for a wide variety of industrial and municipal applications, including:

• Chemical  injection feeder directly into the  cavitation  reactor to enable the power of cavitation to enhance the effectiveness of water treatment chemicals
