TWIN SUMMER CENTRES

Twin offers summer English courses, football and tennis coaching at some of the best centres in the UK and USA, with excellent academic and sports facilities and a choice of either host-family or residential accommodation.

English & Football Coaching. Tottenham Hotspur Football Coaching Programme.

We are proud to be working in partnership with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation to provide top class footbal coaching combined with a course of English language tuition.

Courses are delivered by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation´s own Academy Coaches and the football coaching programme is open to boys and girls. All football coaching is conducted in English. What´s include in the fee?

Fees:

English & Basketball. Twin Summer Centres is proud to be working in partnership with the Surrey Heat, Surrey’s number one professional Premier League basketball team, to provide tailor made basketball camps combined with a course in English language tuition.

Participants will experience a week jam-packed with exciting on and off court challenges under the direction professional basketball players and senior coaches.

Students are guaranteed a minimum of 2 hours of basketball coaching per day (Monday to Thursday) complimented by a wealth of fun on and off court activities.

About the Surrey Heat:The Surrey Heat are a professional basketball team competing in the top flight British Basketball League, the UK’s premier league. Since their formation in 2005, the Heat have collected every piece of available silverware winning the BBL Cup Winners’ Cup in 2007 & 2008, BBL League Champions and BBL Cup Champions in 2007 and BBL Trophy Winners in 2008.

DISCOVERY

WHAT BETTER WAY TO LEARN THAN WITH ENGLISH FRIENDS?

Our after-class afternoon activities vary day by day. We offer a wide variety to cater for different interests and abilities. (See back cover for list of some of the activities at each centre).

Most evening activities involve all the students. Each evening we organise one or two events e.g. team challenges, talent shows, entertainments, discos, karaoke, casino nights, murder mysteries – and many more!

Excursions are organised to show you the best of Britain: cities, castles, museums, galleries, the-me parks and, of course, there’ll be some time for shopping! Before the excursion you’ll research your destination in class to get the most out of your trip.

All options are offered at extra cost and are subject to availability. These group sessions, led byprofessionally qualified coaches, are offered on two afternoons per week. Minimum booking: one week. Transportation costs, where necessary, are included.

SPECIAL SPORTS OPTIONS

Horse-riding: (Radley, Uppingham, Woldingham, Marymount)- beginner to intermediate levels. The riding stables are BHS approved and have excellent facili-ties including indoor and/or outdoor training. Protective hats and boots are supplied.Tennis: (Radley, Uppingham, Woldingham, Marymount)- beginner to intermediate levels. All the basic skills will be coached and practice matches arran-ged. On site.Watersports: (Uppingham)- beginner to intermediate levels. Sailing (picos), and windsurfing, are offered. These take place on Rutland Water, Europe’s largest man-made lake.

JUNIOR SUMMER PROGRAMME

Our Summer Programme runs during July and August each year, giving younger learners a com-plete experience of studying and living in England.

If you’re under 18, we’ve put together a complete package that will not only give you a chance to improve your English but will also take you on a tour of the local area and some of the most famous cities in England.

TUITION

We will give you a test on your first day and place you in the right class for your level. You will then study for 15 hours per week: from 09:30 - 12:45, Monday - Friday.

ACCOMMODATION

You will live with carefully selected families who will provide three meals every day and will also look after you well. You will need to take local buses to travel from the accommodation to school but the buses are regular and the journeys are quite short.

ACTIVITIES

Weekday afternoons are about relaxing and using your English; our Leisure Programme Coordina-tor will organise various activities so that you get the best of everything.

EXCURSIONS

Our Summer Programme includes one half-day excursion and one full-day excursion each week. The half-day excursion is an afternoon during the week and typical destinations would be Christ-church, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Winchester, and Poole. The full-day excursion is taken on Satur-day and our most popular destinations are London, Bath, and Oxford.

TRANSPORT

To take part in these activities and excursions, we also include bus tickets that allow you to use the local buses at any time. This also means that you can use the tickets to travel to and from your homestay accommodation free of charge.



A typical week: While specific activities will vary from week-to-week, and may change depen-ding on the weather, each week is built around a busy timetable, as follows:

JUNIOR SUMMER PROGRAMME

Our aim is to combine proficient language learning with a great summer holiday experience in a multi-national environment. In the morning, we provide proficient language teaching at all levels and for different age groups based on an innovative learning curriculum. This enables you to build up both your knowledge and your confidence in an international atmosphere. In the afternoon and evening, there are always exci-ting activities on offer. Friendly and helpful staff members will run a fully supervised activity programme and guarantee supervision.

The members of our team have been carefully selected for their responsible and caring attitude and for being fun-loving and outgoing. They are the people you can turn to at any time for assistance. SUMMER PROGRAMME

Swansea, “the City by the sea” Wales is next to the bay that bears its name and is becoming one of the most popular destinations in the UK. It is just minutes from the coast and the UK’s first area declared, as an area Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is the second largest city in Wales. Local attractions include city museums, art galleries, parks and gardens, castles, a Victorian pier and a variety of entertainment. These include the lively street cafes in Wind Street, and The Mumbles seaside resort with specialized shops and restaurants. Its traditional covered market is the largest in Wales.

EDUCATION

Monday to Friday: Lessons take place in the Mornings for General English at all levels (15hrs).

ACTIVITIES

Monday to Friday: orientation of the city, visits to The Gower, Langland Bay, Aberdullais Falls, Plan-tasia, Swansea Marina & Museum, swimming, bowling, crazy golf, cinema and LaserZone also sports in college facilities.

EXCURSIONS

Big Pitt Mining Museum, St Fagan’s National Museum and Cardiff City Centre, Bath and Tenby.
