The beginning of Chousn University was the beginning of a civil university. Our expectation to nurture elites who will lead in the rehabilitation and create prosperity of our country has become our ongoing mission. Foundation Philosophy Chosun University was born with a national awakening to nurture elites who would contribute to foundation of a nation. A movement to found a private college in Honam Area that was discouraged under the Japanese imperialism revived with a foundation of Chosun College Founders' Association in May 1946.
