Partnership Review: GNGB Committee agreed
there were no reasons for concern to address and therefore declined to convene a time and task limited panel
Economy Update• BDC working with DWP to
establish a programme for job clubs to work with those claiming benefits and develop their skills
• Continuing to host breakfast meetings at local venues within the district, however their popularity are making it more difficult to find venues big enough
• Economic Success Panel have considered broadband services across the district and monitoring funding to improve connectivity. A myth busting exercise is being planned to help residents know what packages are best for them
Economy Update• Councillors questioned whether local businesses were being consulted by the broadband working group to identify their needs and ‘hotspots’ across the district, not just focusing on broadband but mobile coverage too.
• Councillors pleased with the media coverage generated for Broadly Active 10 year anniversary and continue to support the scheme
• Working with Aylsham to host heritage open days, proving successful tourism attraction
Economy Update• Apprentices Broadland launched in August 2015. Working with local businesses to host apprentices, also addressing the concerns raised in the March 2015 OFSTED inspection• Councillors expressed interest in the progress of Carrowbreck development• Councillors supported the Broadland Focus Group consisting of young workers interested in the democratic decision making process. Suggestion of expanding their meeting involvement to Parish/Town council level.

the recently noted Council Performance Broadland Business Plan and Service Plan Update report; identifying areas for review by the Performance Management Sub Committee

enquiry agreed by the Committee will be passed to the Performance Management Sub Committee to investigate.
Agreed outcomes from PMSC will be brought back to Committee within 5 months
Corporate Equalities Update Say No to Domestic
Abuse – White ribbon campaign has launched
Prevent duty training is scheduled to take place
Praise given for the professionalism of staff and consideration for community and individual needs e.g. universal credit changes
Work Programme Update Committee agreed to
bring forward consideration of YourNorwich, report to be brought in January. 2016.
