    dependenceandalargeconsumptionbaseislikelytohelpsustaingrowth.

    TherehasbeenanimprovementinindustrialactivitywiththeIndexofIndustrial

    Production(IIP)expandingat6.8percentinyear-on-year(Y-o-Y)termsinJuly

    2009.AftercontinuedlowtonegativegrowthsinceOctoberlastyear,therobust

    numberswitnessedinthelasttwoconsecutivemonthsindicatethelikely

    inceptionofindustrialrecoveryinIndia2.Moreover,adoubledigitgrowthin

    consumerdurablessegmentforthefourthconsecutivemonthindicates

    improvingdemandconditionswhichaugurwellfortheindustrialsector.

    GM, Reva sign pact to launch electric car; Reva to unveil two new

    models in India by 2011

    GeneralMotorsIndia(GMI)andRevaElectricCarCompany(RECC)havereportedlyinkedanagreementtolaunchanelectriccar,ChevroletSpark,inIndia

    in2010.TheelectriccarisexpectedtobemanufacturedatoneofGMIs

    facilitiesatHalolorTalegaon.

    Revaisreportedlyalsoplanningtolaunchtwomodels,NXR(NeXtRevaand

    NXG(NeXtGeneration),inIndiabyearly2010and2011respectively.Both

    modelsareexpectedtobemanufacturedatRevasnewgreenmanufacturing

    facilityinBangalorewhichhasamaximumannualcapacityof30,000unitsand
