Modernization
Main reasons: • Equipment is out of production, • Manufacturer no longer provide
technical support. • Require increasing throughput. Advantages: • Using OFDM and MIMO technologies,
providing multipath reception and NLOS, • Range up to 80 km • Channel width up to 100 MB/s
Introduction to MINT protocol MINT – Mesh InterconnectioTechnologyn Network Infinet Wireless units are using proprietary MINT protocol as one and only transport for R5000 products family. MINT operates between DataLink and Network Layers of the TCP/IP Model
MINT protocol was designed to incorporate switching and routing capabilities in one unit. Moreover, switching and routing can be performed at the same time for different traffic types according to configuration rules MINT designed to provide transport over wireless links, therefore MINT link parameters are subject to adopt to rapid change. MINT has capability for automatic best route selection on Layer 2. Manual route selection is also supported for Layer 2 MINT supports predictive model to switch in advance to best path, in order to deliver data the quickest possible MINT-over-Ethernet can be enabled to provide backup and redundant paths, especially for mobility projects. Pseudo Radio Interface (PRF) are virtual interfaces used to provide MINT-over-Ethernet MINT design was inspired by OSPF, meanwhile MINT can operate on Layer 2 and Layer 3 MINT main criteria for optimal path selection is time (minimal packet delivery time)
MINT unique advantages allows IW units to be used in various mobile scenarios Fast switching between different BS along the traffic route. Automatic adjustment of radio parameters Using another IW units as retransmission points to reach BS
Handheld mobile terminal (development stage)
• MIMO Omnidirectional aerial 8dBi • Dual power supply • Radiomodem Infinet • Wi-Fi router • UPS • Range up to 10 km
The housing of the radio transmission unit is made of high impact ABS plastic. degree of protection against dust and moisture IP66 In the building there are two connectors: a double VHF-connector and the external power supply / charging UPS. In addition, the housing may accommodate protected RJ-45 connectors. The basic method of connecting to the radio transmission unit is Wi-Fi, this functionality is provided disposed inside the wireless router, so the interface having four LAN, which can be displayed on the external part of the radio transmission unit. Wireless Router has a built-in antenna. Uninterruptible power supply can continue to operate as a set for 2 or more hours.
