REMEMBER!
Continental Army- made up of patriots and small
militias that came together once the First
Continental Congress was formed. They were
fighting against the British.
British Army- the red coats, they were sent by
King George III to attain order again in the
colonies.
Continental Army: Advantages
1. Familiar with the land
2. Good leadership
3. Highly motivated
4. Alliance with Spain and France
Continental Army:
Disadvantages
1. Little money and supplies
2. No formal army or navy
Assignment
You will create a foldable that will compare and
contrast both the Continental army and the British
army. If you do not finish in class, it will be
homework.
Introduction and Reflection go on pg.13 in your
notebook. Your 2 paragraph reflection
(homework) will be you answering the following
question: Which army would you prefer to be a
part of? Why? Be specific.
Your notes will be stapled to pg. 14 next class.
