COUNCIL BRITISH INTERNATIONAL April - May 2017 GRH Marg Primary Department Vol. 7, Issue -1 Satrarambh Prayer and purification marked the commencement of the new academic session 2017-18. The Satrarambh Ceremony on 3 April, 2017, commenced with the school choir paying obeisance to Lord Ganesha & Goddess Saraswati. Mr. Yuvraj, TGT (Sanskrit) exhorted students to value the blessings of good education and model themselves as righteous individuals. This was followed by the ‘HAVAN’ ceremony conducted by Pandit Lalit Prasad Mishra. Melodious Bhajans presented by Mr. Suman Jha, Asstt. Teacher (Music) marked a befitting end to the ceremony. Editorial “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment” stated a great mind once. Disciplining the mind is of paramount importance in every walk of life . Instilling values and qualities of obedience, punctuality, righteousness, self-control, respect and tolerance for all are the stepping stones for grooming and moulding a child's personality. The brave uniformed men guarding our frontiers despite adverse conditions are an inspiration for us all to be disciplined . Discipline is the only means to achieve physical and mental well being which is very crucial in today’s competitive times. Whether in class or stepping out of your class for an activity or an excursion you must be disciplined not only to ensure safety for yourself but also for your friends. To create a niche for oneself and to become a role model for the peers, discipline plays a major role. The perseverance of the tiniest of creatures like ants and the sheer diligence and patience of honey bees is something we all can learn from.To accomplish our goals , it is imperative to inculcate these precious values right from childhood . Overall personality development of a child requires one to work hard consistently even stifling one’s desires. Sacrifices of sports legends like Saina Nehwal,Phogat sisters, and Mary Kom do not fail to motivate us “ Everyone must choose one of the two pains – the pain of discipline or the pain of regret”. A Report on Solan TripAdventure field trips & excursions have always been an integral part of our school curriculum. I was eagerly looking

forward to the trip to Bal Bharati Activity centre in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. For me, it was the first time away from home.

The much awaited day dawned on 19 May,17. I was part of Batch No.28. The trip was well-planned and two buses with all

the pulsating bundles of merriment set off at 5.30 am from the school. Joy was evident on our faces , our teachers looked

on dotingly and helped us to our seats. Enroute to our destination, we stopped at Haveli, Sonepat for breakfast. After an

exciting 8 hour bus journey, we reached the picturesque activity center located in the midst of hills. It is a sprawling

Adventure activity centre. We participated in so many adventure sports activities at the centre like rock climbing, flying

fox, double rope, rappelling, commando net, trekking, hiking, river crossing, ladder climbing, Burma Bridge & zorbing.

These activities truly encouraged us to move beyond our comfort zone and experience the rewards of achievement.

The team of expert trainers led us to the activities while constantly motivating us to participate. We had a host of activities

planned for each day. Apart from adventure, we were also taken on the mess kitchen tour & told how food has cooked.

The Activity centre offered a lively, positive & diverse environment which built our confidence, improved communication

skills and a greater sense of affinity with my classmates and teachers.

I will cherish this exhilarating experience forever & recommend all my friends to visit the Centre at least once in their

school time.
