That 80’s Time Travel MovieA Back to The Future Musical Parody11th February–27th March 2018 on selected dates Brisbane Arts Theatreartstheatre.com.au Just when you thought your favourite 80’s movie couldn’t get any better, a bunch of guys decided to add a dose of parody to some musical numbers so Marty McFly can sing his way out of the DeLorean and into 2018 (okay, so in the movie it was 2015, but details people, details).

Brisbane Arts Theatre stage is transformed from the fifties to the naughties and back again – which means this show is not for the faint-hearted. Or for kids. The purpose of parody is to exaggerate everything to comic effect. Now think about Marty’s mum’s inappropriate crush and see where that takes you! Some of the Arts Theatre’s most talented actors will be on stage with brilliant and affectionate comic timing. If you’re not sure how the DeLorean will make it onto the small stage at Petrie Terrace, you should know there is only one way to find out!

Magnificent Makers Open daily until 3 June 2018 State Library of Queensland makers.slq.qld.gov.au #SLQmakers Explore Queensland’s unique history of innovation in State Library of Queensland’s exhibition, Magnificent Makers. The exhibition profiles the lives and works of a group of remarkable Queenslanders who thought outside the box to craft pioneering creations from the late 1800s to the present day. Using the technology available to them at the time, these innovators made significant

developments in the areas of education, sport, leisure, clothing, photography, medicine and scientific research. One of the most intriguing items on display is an intricate Braille globe for vision-impaired children, invented in Queensland in the 1950s by Richard Frank Tunley. Tunley dedicated his life to improving outcomes for vision-impaired children and adults, producing Braille globes and maps, as well as being instrumental in implementing compulsory education for deaf and blind children.
