Brief Bio
• Born in England 25 April, 1931• Started as a pointillist painter• 1959-61 color field painting• 1961-65 worked in black and white
and started using curved parallel lines to create a “billowing” effect
• Followed the works of Op Artist, Victor Vasarely
• Later moved to color

Fourth Grade Projects
• White Drawing Paper• Pencils• Crayons
• Draw your name in cursive, filling up the paper lengthwise.
• Draw contour lines that hug the shape of your name above and below.
• Make some lines close together and some farther apart.
• Make some lines thick and some lines thin.
• When coloring in the spaces, you may use solid color or pattern.

• Cardboard Circle• Pencil• Erasers• Markers
• Begin in the center with the middle letter of your name.
• Work towards the outer edges, drawing lightly.
• Color name with ONE color marker.
• Design background using no more than 3 colors.
