A second sense of knowing God's willcomes when things are a matter of plainduty. When we know that we ought to do

something, or refrain from doing it (as amoral obligation), then to seek to knowGod's will becomes not spiritual-minded-ness, but spiritual weakness. Balaam theprophet is a good example of this (Numbers 22-24). He should have flatly refusedBalak's messengers when they came withrich wages of unrightousness. (2 Peter2:15) But his eye wa s on the payment, sohe made it a matter of prayer. Inthe end,he lost the reward, exasperated KingBalak, incurred God's anger, and becamea monument of hypocrisy. Second,opened a small mail-order store in Amillo to help bear some of the load. Thmany who come to th e store inquire abthe church here, and a fe w d o co me

is increasing with new members andbaptisms. We are now averaging between50 60 people on Sunday morning, 20 ormore on Sunday night and about 17 onWednesday evening.

Mike and Donna Hogg were immersedinto Jesus Christ on August 27th. Theymade their commitment together as aresult of Mike s Bible study. Both aregrowing in the Lord. Mike has even givena few c o m m u n i o n medi ta t ions for t h e co ngregation. Chris Falk was immersed inJesus Christ September 24th. He firstat tended Lands tuh l w h e n he w a s in Jun io rHigh here with his parents. He is now one

class away from being a college graduate.In the past few weeks, he has been thinking, studying, and growing in the Lord.

We have ha d some new people comeand join the congregation. Ted and SusanBear came from Florida. It took them just3 weeks before they came forward.
