We have bought the FUEGO Multiaxis

When we decided to buy a numerical control wire saw, we thought of a machine that would have allowed us to produce large-size, but relatively simple architectural elements: in fact, the wire machines which are capable of interpolating various axes and realizing the more complex geometries we were thinking of, usually impose size restrictions. Because of this compromise, we found it very difficult to decide whether buying or not.When we talked to Breton about our ideas, they presented us ”FUEGO Multiaxis”, an innovating machine capable of realizing very complex geometries with no restrictions on the size of pieces to be produced.For some months now we have been using this machine, and the architects, both Belgian and non-Belgian, already know that at Oscar Daffe’s there is a new machine and ask us whether we can manufacture the complex shapes they had conceived.And many times we can answer: “Yes, we can with our FUEGO!”

I wanted this machine to meet the increasing demand for special shaped components. With FUEGO I solved cutting difficulties on large size pieces. In addition, with FUEGO’s eight interpolated axes I can create a limitless variety of contours. I’m now convinced that I made a smart and highly productive choice on behalf of the company for which I act.

Did you know we were the first company to design and market a bridge saw for combined disc/waterjet cutting, the COMBICUT?That was back in 2005! Last year we presented the 5-Axis version of COMBICUT, gathering the unanimous approval of our customers. The head incorporates five interpolated axes including the waterjet. This unique technology allows the waterjet head to be continuously tilted and achieve complex machining on materials hard to cut even with the most sophisticated diamond saw blade (e.g. ceramics).

The machine can be supplied with an automatic pallet exchange system which allows the operator to load and unload while the machine continuously saws. The operator panel features the exclusive “Breton Touch” interface technology that mimics smartphone functionality.

The machine has received widespread acclaim from its initial presentation to the market, and now it’s become a best-seller thanks to the introduction of the 5 interpolated axes.

SMART-CUT DUO outfeed can be equipped with an anthropomorphic robot which can unload the cut slabs automatically without the supervision of an operator. All of this is possible thanks to our privileged partnership with Optidrive, a company specialized in the development of systems with KUKA robots.

The first machine connected to a KUKA robot will be installed at Renier in Aarschot, Belgium, a technological leader in the natural stone processing industry.

The LEVIBRETON ONE RELOADED is a highly evolved automatic machine designed specifically for professionals with limited work volume. LEVIBRETON ONE RELOADED is a single-head polishing machine for marble and granite with an automatic head changer. With its 16 kW power rating, 14,500 rpm and an impressive 30 Nm torque with service factor S1, this head maximizes the performance of the entire range of Breton contouring machines.The electrospindle body is made of aluminum to ensure the necessary stiffness and strength, with an anodized surface treatment for optimal corrosion resistance.The spindle shaft is made of hardened stainless steel that runs with three front and two rear bearings using ceramic balls, which ensure an elevated thrust capacity also at high rotation speeds.The toolholder clamping system is type HSK-B80, which offers a higher performance than its ISO counterpart.The electrospindle is thermally stabilized by a closed loop cooling circuit connected to a chiller.

One memorable and significant application involved installing a CONTOURFIVE 700 specifically configured to fabricate ceramic basins for one of the top manufacturers in the industry: the German DURAVIT group.The machine is installed in one of the group’s main production plants in Horneberg, Germany.

EUREKA cuts the Scrap➜ Breton O N E M A C H I N E , T H R E E P R O C E S S E S

The machine is designed to incorporate a series of MIRAGE heads and SG8 oscillating brick heads.The MIRAGE head is equipped with 6 inclined axis tapered diamond tools offering exceptionally high removal rates. The head rotates at low speed (240 rpm), while the diamond discs spin at 2,800 rpm, allowing the tools to reach a peripheral velocity of 30 m/s: the optimal speed for granite machining.The MIRAGE head operates under pneumatic pressure and is assisted by a back-pressure system, an inverter and a mechatronic system responsible for defining the maximum down feed of the head.

Establishing the machining position and operating the MIRAGE heads at their maximum material removal rate, EUREKA calibrates slabs to the required thickness. Calibrating functions aside, the MIRAGE heads work also as polishing heads and the downstream SG8 oscillating heads complete the levelling and polishing operations. EUREKA CUTS THE SCRAP... one machine to perform completely independent machining operations: CALIBRATING, LEVELLING, POLISHING.

Q. Mr. BASSI why did you decide to invest in EUREKA?A. We were looking for a machine capable of levelling the slabs before resin treatment, calibrating for the calibrated slabs market and additionally operating as a conventional polishing machine.EUREKA combines all my requirements into a single machine.

Die Ferronato AG wurde 1952 durch Natale Ferronato in Schlieren ZH gegründet.Im Juli 1999 wird die Firma von Georg Schlag und Franca Ferronato übernommen.2001 wurde zusätzlich eine Diamantwerkzeug-und Schleifmittelfabrik aufgekauft. Seit 2010 befindet sich das Büro, das Lager und die Produktion von Diamantwerkzeugen in Ehrendingen bei Baden, dort wurde ein neues Betriebsgebäude mit Produktion und Fabrikladen erstellt. All SMART-CUT machines can be equipped with a new function allowing the chamfering of rectangular tiles before cutting them to measure.

When equipped with this accessory, SMART-CUT will pick up a suitable disc shaped chamfering tool from the tool magazine, measure the thickness of the slab with the same device used first

to cut the grooves and then machine the chamfer to the required depth from 0.5 to 3.0 mm.

This is an extremely useful option when working with panels of different sizes. Manual chamfering would otherwise be the only alternative.
