We are all sad to hear of the death of Diane Forde in May, all atb-inspired, b-connected and the Braunstone Residents Networkoffer their sincere condolences to Di’s family at this sad time.

“Diane has been part of the fabric here at Wellinger Way for several yearsand she brought with her a wealth of knowledge, ideas, enthusiasm and alittle sprinkle of crazy dust to share with all her friends here. We were luckyenough to be liked by Di who decided to get involved in making thingshappen in the community that she had spent all of her life living in. Di helpedout in the garage, and was part of the planning committee for theBraunstone Awards, she made speeches, she dressed up, she served teas, and all with a great big contagious smile, she went that extra mile. She issorely missed but one thing we know for sure, she will not be forgotten.Good night sweetheart”. Ali Gamble

“When people made friends with Diane, they soon found out that Diane became the most wonderful friend thatthey had ever known. Diane related to everyone specially at the Braunstone History Group meetings at BRITECentre and the Stable Block, also she was so helpful and customer friendly at the garage sales, she had a greatsense of humour and a lovely smile. We will all miss her so much, Di touched us with a bit of magic, it was ahonour to be Di’s friend and to be a part of her life”. Alan Chapman“I first met Diane 47 years ago when I lived next door to her, she was full of life, always playing tricks on me, welost touch after a while and met many years later volunteering at Wellinger Way in Braunstone. She was sucha lovely bubbly person who lived her life to the fullest, she was a very dear friend”. Eileen Gollings.“Diane and I went school together in the early 60’s, we lost touch when we left only to meet up again about 4years ago, when Diane came to b-connected to volunteer and to get involved with the Resnet team and theBraunstone Neighbourhood Management Board amongst other events , what a lady she was. Di, Alan and I hada weeks holiday together in 2012, when we went to Skegness, we were hoping to go together this year but sadlyit will not happen. Di loved her life, her family and a lovely dancing career, she loved her 2 dogs and all herfriends, I’m proud to say I was one of many friends she had and I will always love and miss Diane, the laughterand fun you brought to the garage sale on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will truly be missed. Bye Diane”.Joy Vincent

b-inspired wouldlike to say ahuge thank you

to local firm MillerConstruction fortheir kind donationmade to the Braunstone Foodshare.b-inspired’s Chief Officer Angie Wright wasinvited by the staff at Miller Construction’sEllesmere Site to receive their donation whichwas collected through a variety of fund-raisingevents. Miller Construction has been the maincontractor for the design, build andrefurbishment of Ellesmere College to its newlocation at the former Riverside College site.Ellesmere College is a secondary school whichprovides education for young people with general

learning difficulties. The new college hasbeen built not only toto accommodate morestudents but also to

include many new outstanding features such asdrama and music amenities, playing fields and asports hall. Once again, thank you very muchMiller Construction.

We are really pleased to announce thatwe have started a new service to helpcare for our housebound and nursing

home patients. We are employing an experiencedcommunity nurse, Alison Day, as an AdvancedCare Planner. Some of you may know Alison whohas a wealth of community nursing experienceand can prescribe medication if required. She willhelp carry out home visits and support patients tomanage their own health. The Practice receives a high number of requestsfor home visits. In the time it takes for a doctorto see a patient in their own home they could seethree or four patients in the surgery, so we willonly visit patients who are not able to leave theirhome for medical reasons. At this time of year we see lots of patients whohave had insect bites. It’s a good idea to keepsome antihistamine tables or cream in the houseas these can relieve the irritation and soreness.Your chemist can advise you on the best type foryou. Also, don’t forget to apply sun cream andmake sure you drink plenty of fluids when theweather is hot.We hope you have a happy and safe summer.Kate Hunter, Practice Manager.
