Early life

Boyd was born in Ogden, Utah on the 31st of January in 1948

Early life

On Boyd’s tenth birthday the first successful American satellite, Explorer

1, was launched into orbit.

Early life

Boyd attended Ogden High School from 9th through 12th grade.

Military Life

When Boyd was called into service for his

country, he chose to join the Army of the

United States of America.

Military Life

After completing basic training,

Boyd and the rest of his regiment

headed for Vietnam. He

began his tour of duty Wednesday,

the 18th of December, 1968.

and must actively participate in ground

combat.

Boyd Keith Newbold received this award within the first few months of his time served.

Despite being one of the smallest units engaged in the Vietnam conflict, the Group colors fly twenty

campaign streamers, and its soldiers are among the

most highly decorated in the history of our nation.

hostile. His life was lost when a

driver lost control of a vehicle and

crashed.

Like many of his fallen comrades, Boyd only served a period of

1-2 years…
