You’re not casual about your faith.
Neither are we.
That’s why we promise every
professor and every major will
aim to transform you beyond
the classroom.
We’re serious about:
Your Worldview
Every part of the school is
dedicated to helping each
student form a distinctively
biblical vision for life and calling.
Your Discipleship
You’ll build deep, lasting
relationships with like-minded
young Christians who take
their faith seriously.
Your Mission
Each student at Boyce College has
one of two callings: the call to go
to the nations with the gospel or
the call to stay, send, and support
others to go. Which one are you?

The ninth president of Southern Seminary,
Albert Mohler has been president at Southern
Seminary and Boyce College for 25 years.
R. Albert Mohler Jr.
If you want to be a thoughtful Christian
willing to discuss things that matter, you’ll
need a full biblical worldview. That’s where
R. Albert Mohler Jr., the president of Southern
Seminary and Boyce College, shines. He is
the host of The Briefing, a daily podcast
analyzing news and events from a Christian
worldview, and Thinking in Public, a conver-
sation on key cultural issues with the people
who are shaping them. Time.com called him
the “reigning intellectual of the evangelical
movement in the U.S.” and he is the author
of more than ten books, including The Prayer
That Turns the World Upside Down. He is
regularly discussing frontline theological and
cultural topics at forums like his Ask Anything
Tour, which has visited the University of
Louisville, the University of Southern California,
and the University of California-Los Angeles
in the last two years.

We Learn in a Distinctively
Biblical Community “At Boyce College, we educate students to
have an impact for Christ in both ministry and
the marketplace. That’s why Boyce College is
not your average Christian campus. We learn,
serve, and live in biblical community so our
graduates can leverage their lives strategically
for the gospel no matter where they serve.”

A Faculty Committed to MentorshipOf our faculty members, 95 percent hold a terminal degree.
But that’s not what’s most important about them. They are
not just gifted scholars. They are committed to spending
most of their time in the classroom — teaching and mentor-
ing students like you.
Oren MartinAssistant professor of Christian theology
What is distinct about studying Christian theology at
Boyce College?
Christian theology attends to the whole of Scripture from
Genesis to Revelation, in all of its glorious relations and
proportions, as we think and talk about God the Holy
Trinity, man, sin, Christ, the Holy Spirit, salvation, church,
and eschatology. In other words, we think through the
basic concepts of the Christian faith so that we can
faithfully live before God wherever he leads us.
Why do you love teaching here?
Since Boyce College offers a variety of majors beyond
Christian ministry, I love the opportunity to teach stu-
dents how to think and live before God as they prepare
to go into the world. What a privilege! It’s been such a
joy to see former students now ministering in churches
and serving overseas with hearts burning for the
glory of Christ.

David BoschAssociate professor of business administration
Why do you love teaching at
Boyce College?
Besides the faculty and the
students that love Jesus, my life
makes sense here. I am able to
use all of my experience in the
classroom. From my corporate
experience to my educational
background to my missional
experience, it all gets utilized
at Boyce College. I want to be
a part of equipping students to
view their work as ministry and
an opportunity to take the gospel
to the marketplace — whether
that is in Louisville, Kentucky,
or Baghdad, Iraq.
What are some of your former
students doing now?
Our graduates have been placed
in multiple arenas. One is a
financial analyst for an energy
company. We also have one doing
social media marketing for an ad
agency. Another graduate is an
entrepreneur running a success-
ful photography business.

How one Boyce College student made it work
What encouragement do you have for
a prospective student unsure about
making it work?
Something that I always tell friends that
are considering Boyce is that if God wants
you here, you’ll be here, and money is no
object for him. There are so many stories
of God’s faithfulness in providing for a
student’s time at Boyce. Most students at
Boyce are in the same boat with paying for
college bit by bit and doing their best to
stay out of debt. That might look like work-
ing a couple of on-campus jobs like I do,
taking classes a little slower and paying
as you go, or working for a company like
Chipotle, UPS, or Starbucks that provides
some tuition assistance.

A Community ʻUnlike Any Otherʼ
What is your favorite thing to do
in Louisville?
The food and coffee in Louisville are
incredible! I love going to eat at dif-
ferent restaurants around the city and
enjoying the great food it has to offer.
There are tons of great coffee shops
here too but my personal favorite
is Quills’.
What has been your favorite class
so far?
My favorite class by far has been
business law. I went into that class
expecting it to be dry and monotonous
but the professor, Jon Austin, really
made the content come alive.
What is one thing you would want a
future student to know about Boyce?
The community at Boyce is unlike any
other that I’ve been a part of. If you
come to Boyce, godly relationships are
everywhere, and you can’t help but find
lifelong friends.
What has surprised you most about
being a student at Boyce?
When I came to Boyce, I knew I would
be receiving a great education theo-
logically, but I was surprised with how
thorough it was in the business depart-
ment. It really is preparing me to be
successful in the corporate world, but
with a biblical mindset.

Sophia FryerMusic and Worship Virginia Beach, Virginia
What has surprised you most
about being a student at Boyce?
Studying music was something
I always knew I wanted to do.
Coming to Boyce, I had fallen in
love with the people, the culture
and the dedication to uncovering
the truths in the Bible. But through
my music classes, I’ve learned so
much and grown in my abilities in
ways I never would have expected.
Even though the classes can be
difficult, the professors are help-
ful and push every student to be
the best they can be. I would not
be the musician I am today if it
weren’t for Boyce College.
What is your favorite thing to do
in Louisville?
I’m a huge nature enthusiast, so
I was pumped to hear that even
though Louisville is a pretty
good-sized city, there are plenty
of parks to visit! Cherokee Park
is super close to school, which
I love, but my favorite place to
go is Bernheim Forest. It’s the
perfect way to take a break
from the college pressures
and de-stress.
What has been your favorite
class so far?
My favorite class has been
Intro to Conducting. It’s taught
by Dr. Brewton, and it’s so much
fun. Conducting music was
never something I had envi-
sioned myself doing, but I
found a love for it through the
class, and it is something I
would love to get better at in
the future.

The book of 1 John gives a helpful model for building relationships: Older men
guide younger men, and older women guide younger women. At Boyce College,
we take that seriously, intentionally pairing upperclass students (juniors and
seniors) with underclass students (freshmen and sophomores) to cultivate a life
of discipleship and mentorship.

After being completely renovated in 2014, the
Mullins Complex provides state-of-the-art hous-

houses two to six students, and most suites
include a common kitchenette and dining area,
