BOSTON BULLETIN Facebook f Website Twitter Instagram Tuesday, March 3, 2020 March photo calendar competition winner – Dean Fisher Boston Borough Council has been consulting with the community and has received funding from Boston Town Area Committee (BTAC) and The Community Migration Fund to install a skate park in Central Park in the area that used to home the bowling green and pavilion. Over the last 10 months consultation events have taken place with schoolchildren and the community to enable them to be involved with this project through the whole process from ideas to design. Now that the contract has been awarded to Maverick Industries there will be further drop-in sessions taking place in both Central Park and the Methodist Church, at which a representative of skate park designer Maverick Industries will be present. The community can come along and view the design and will be able to collect constructive feedback from locals to aid in the installation of the new facility. Riders of all ages can come along and see examples and give suggestions and opinions Maverick has worked hard in designing the plans through suggestions that were received at the first stage of consultations. Now they are ready to reveal it at these consultation events. A representative will be available to discuss ideas and feedback on the plans. The aim of the home energy check is to deliver practical energy saving information and advice to older people. This project is running until 13th March 2020.To be eligible, at least one member of the household must be over 65 and meet one of the following: Be on a low income (£16,190 p.a or below), Suffer from heart or respiratory problems, arthritis or mobility issues, have a disability or live in a property that is hard to heat (i.e. solid walls, no loft space, high rise) These services are available to people living in The City of Lincoln, Kesteven, Boston and South Holland areas. It represents a 7p a week increase for the average band D property, almost 90 per cent of properties are rated below this and will pay less.
