FIELD INFORMATION The Toronto North/Cookstown KOA: is located 40 minutes North of Toronto on Highway 400 at the Highway 89 exit. This venue offers lots of amenities. Please visit the KOA website’s for further information at: http://koa.com/campgrounds/toronto-north/ There are various options for accommodations at the campground. These are as follows: Tent Site, Water/Electricity, Full, 1 Room Cabin (Sleeps up to 4), 2 Room Cabin (Sleeps up to 6), Studio Lodge (Sleeps 4), Camping Delux Lodge (Sleeps 6). Please contact the KOA for current pricing. Dogs are permitted in the Cabins and Lodges, however, are not allowed on the beds. The KOA Kafe offers pizza, wings, fries, etc., plus beverages. McDonald’s is located on the West side of Highway 400. There are other food establishments at the Cookstown Outlet Mall on the South side of Highway 89. Tim Horton’s is located one exit North on Highway 400. The Innisfil Creek Golf Club is located on the next property to the North. Please visit their website at http://www.innisfilcreekgolf.com/. Georgian Downs (Standardbred race track with slots) is located on exit North on Highway 400. Website: http://www.georgiandowns.com/. Walmart, Costco, Sobeys, etc. are located two exits North on Highway 400. Barrie is 15 minute drive North on Highway 400.

As with any location, there are positives and negatives. Highway 400 is visible from the field. While the frontage of the park is not fenced there is a 6+ (six) foot deep ditch running the entire length of the frontage. This ditch has been allowed to go natural and by that I mean, it is filled with shrubs, bushes, trees and weeds and at the bottom of the ditch there is a stream. If a dog happened to get through the ditch there is livestock fencing between Reive Blvd. and Highway 400. The KOA also does not allow motorhomes and travel trailers to park on the field. So, if you are bringing a motorhome/travel trailer, you must check in prior to the trial. If the site has not been previously booked Friday night the park will make an exception and check you in at 9 a.m. Please make these arrangements ahead of time and directly with the KOA. Options available (1) you can check-in Friday night or (2) book either a Cabin or Lodge and leave the motorhome/trailer at home. Hotel Accommodations Holiday Inn at Highway 400 & Essa Road, 705-728-6191. No extra charge for dogs. Let them know you have dogs and they will try and put you on the main floor. There is a Timmy's, Wendy's & Pizza Hut right there. Zehrs is across the road. This is 3 exits North of the KOA. Super 8 at Highway 400 & Bryne Drive (441 Bryne Drive) 705-814-8888. There is a $15 extra charge for dogs. This is 2 exits North of the KOA. There is everything there - Wal-mart, Sobey's, Timmy's, lots of food places, Cnd Tire. Only thing is I don't know how much grass is around. This is a very commercial area.
