October 27, 2014 Dear “Bonus Bucks Against Hunger” Hiring Committee: Since I first heard the project proposal for Bonus Bucks Against Hunger, I knew that it was a project that would make a positive impact on the Columbia area’s homeless population. I am applying for a position on the project management team, for which my extensive volunteer work and natural leadership abilities will be beneficial. This groundbreaking project will connect USC students and the issues that the city of Columbia faces, and I am excited at the prospect of being a founding member of this venture. I offer seven years of volunteer experience, mostly with The Village Childcare and Preschool center. In this setting, I do a considerable amount of clerical tasks. One such task is an annual update of the center’s student and staff member filing databases. This requires that I am very organized and have a close attention-to-detail so that all files are accounted for. In high school, I employed these skills while serving as class president. I created a raffle ticket fundraiser that needed very few class funds because I requested a donation from a local company to be the prize of the raffle. We were able to sell the tickets for $5. The sale of up to 1000 tickets brought in a considerable amount of funds for our class, which went toward our senior prom. I am confident that my volunteer and leadership experience will augment the overall success of the Bonus Bucks Against Hunger campaign. As a freshman at the University of South Carolina, I am highly interested in forming a positive relationship between the university and the Columbia community. A project such as Bonus Bucks Against Hunger is just the student organization that can form these relationships for not only myself but for many students who are also looking to aid hungry Columbians.

Dear “Bonus Bucks Against Hunger” Hiring Committee:

Since I first heard the project proposal for Bonus Bucks Against Hunger, I knew that it was a project that would make a positive impact on the Columbia area’s homeless population.

Beyond the end of this fall semester, I am available and willing to realize this project on our campus. Since I am in my first year, I will be able to serve as a member and leader of the organization for the next four years. Bonus Bucks Against Hunger has the potential to make an enormous difference in Columbia, and I would be incredibly pleased to be one of the students who leads the effort.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Kimberly P. [email protected]
