In the Guayaquil Tennis Club, Ecuador won both of the first two singles matches against Canada in the

Americas Zone Group 1 of the Davis Cup on Friday, July 8th, to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five

match, followed by two straight-sets wins on Sunday's reverse doubles to win the competition. First,

Vasek Pospisil from Canada, was defeated by Ivan Endara 6-3, 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-3 in the singles opener at

the Guayaquil Tennis Club, while Vancouver’s Philip Bester fell to Ecuador’s Julio-Cesar Campozano 7-6(4), 6-7(4), 7-5, 6-2. The

next day, in doubles, Pospisil and doubles veteran Daniel Nestor, kept Canada’s hopes alive as they defeated the doubles team of

Roberto Quiroz and Emilio Gomez. Finally, Pospisil and Bester both won their singles matches on Sunday, winning the competi-
