Ensuring the correct products are used and recommended processes are adapted is vital in ensuring the repair is ready for the next stage and will not cause future problems.

Below we go through the different Body Filler processes.

Begin by reshaping the damaged panel to the required profile using a hammer / dollie or appropriate dent pulling equipment. Once reshaped, use a DA sander to sand the damaged area back to the substrate for the application of Body Filler. We recommended using a planetary DA sander or 9mm-10mm orbital sander for fast removal of paint.

To avoid any contamination throughout the repair, pre-clean the bare substrate with your chosen branded degreaser or pre cleaner. You can mask any surrounding areas where the Body Filler is not needed.The area is now ready for the application of Body Filler.

Use a Bodyline Mixing Board to mix the required volume of Bodyline Body Filler at a ratio of 2% hardener to 100% Body Filler – it is important to activate the Body Filler correctly as over activation can lead to Staining, a sticky surface or pin holing. Do not mix the Body Filler on cardboard as cardboard can be impregnated with additives that can lead to imperfections of the Body Filler.

1) SMALL DENT FILL PROCESSApply the Bodyline Fine Polyester Stopper to a maximum depth of 3mm, work in layers of 1 mm for each coat, squeezing the air out of each

coat to avoid pin holes; this should be applied to the required profile

2) MEDIUM TO DEEP FILL PROCESS:Apply the Bodyline Ultra Body Filler in layers of 2mm depth to a maximum depth of 6mm by squeezing out the air in each coat to avoid pin holing. Once applied to the required depth, the Bodyline Body Filler can be left to cure at an ambient temperature of 21°C. \

3) DEEP FILL PROCESS:Apply the Easy sand Body Filler in layers of 2mm-3mm depth to a maximum depth of 8mm by squeezing out the air in each coat to avoid pin holing. Once applied to the required depth, the Bodyline Body Filler can be left to cure at an ambient temperature of 21°C.

If the profile is still not acceptable then repeat steps 2 or 3 to the required level

Once cured, apply Bodyline Dry Guide Coat to the Body Filler to highlight any imperfections and stop any clogging of the abrasive When the filler is back to room temperature use a dust extraction block to sand with the correct Bodyline P80 0r P180 Gripspeed Abrasive Strip to sand the Body Filler to achieve the correct profile.

The repair is now ready for the Bodyline Ultra Glaze to be applied.

Mix the required volume of Ultra Glaze at a ratio of 2% hardener to 100% Filler. You must ensure the product is mixed thoroughly until no hardener can be seen and one even colour is formed as this will prevent pin holing, staining

and any tacky surface residue. Again, ensure the Bodyline mixing board is used to prevent contamination.

Apply the Ultra Glaze in one nice wet even coat, so a smooth final finish and appearance is achieved.

The Ultra Glaze Stopper can now be left to cure at an ambient temperature of 21°C. Once cured apply the Bodyline Dry Guide Coat to the repair area, to help highlight imperfections for sanding, and allow the filler to return to room temperature before sanding.

Use a dust extraction block to sand the Ultra Glaze along with a P180 Bodyline Gripspeed Abrasive Strip to the correct profile. The dust extraction block will allow for a cleaner working area and give improved efficiency and performance of the strip.

Feather edge and remove the scratches from the repair using a P320 Bodyline Gripspeed Disc. You must ensure that the feathered edge sanding scratches are sufficiently sanded to an adequate area for the application of the 2 pack primer.
