Transcript of BODY MOVEMENTS in ISLAM
CLASS 6 SCIENCE
It is the movement of the entire body from one place to another.
WHAT IS
The movement that does not involve complete shifting of body is called movement of curvature.Example; bending, lifting etc.
What does a building’s framework
do?
It gives proper shape and gives strength.
The framework
of our body is
providedby the 206 bones of
the SKELETON
.
Without a skeleton?
Allah swt has designed 2 systems for our body’s movement
Skeletal system
Muscular System
The skeletal system is made up of 2 parts:
Bone (is hard)
Cartilage (is Elastic and soft)
BONE AND CARTILAGE
FUNCTIONS OF THE SKELETON SYSTEM • Shape and support to the body.
• Protects the soft and delicate vital organs of the body.
• Movement of the body.
• Some bones enclose bone marrow-a blood-forming tissue.
• Bones store calcium and phosphorus making them strong and hard.
The skeleton is of two types:
Endoskeleton-Skeleton within the body
Exoskeleton-Skeleton outside the body
All vertebrates(animal with a back bone) have an ENDOSKELETON
Usually insects have EXOSKELETONS.
The skeletal system is made up of bones, joints and connective tissue.
Endoskeleton
Skull Vertebral column Ribs Limbs Girdles
SKULL:22 BONES,ONLY 1 MOVABLE-LOWER JAW
VERTEBARAL
COLUMN:33 vertebra,Cartilage is
present between the bones of the vertebrae.
RIBS: 12 in number10 fixed, 2 floating.
LIMBS: forelimbs and hindlimbs
GIRDLES
JOINTS
Skeletal system
Joints
FixedRibs, joint
to the sternum, bones of
skull

gliding
partially movable;joints in vertebral column.
Types of Joints
WHAT ARE TENDONS AND LIGAMENTS?
Muscles help in movement only by contracting
MOVEMENT IN ANIMALS
ALLAH SWT SAYS IN SURAH AL-NUR VERSE-45
Allah has created every [living] creature from water. And of them are those that move on their bellies, and of them are those that walk on two legs, and of them are those that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills. Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
THE MOVEMENT OF A SNAKE:with the help of scales which act as anchors.
•IN A FISH There is a STREAMLINED body.•The tail fin flaps from side to side to make them swim in the right direction.• The dorsal fin stabilizes the fish and prevents from rolling when taking turns.•The pectoral and pelvic fin are present in pairs help the fish to keep balance.
A BIRD has a STREAMLINED body.
They have light and hollow bones to help in flight.
Forelimbs are modified into its wings.
Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.
Allah swt talks about the flight of birds(Surah Mulk Ayah 19)
