Board News Daniella Carazo-Reynolds joins Foundation Board of
Directors
The Coral Gables Community Foundation is proud to announce the addition of DaniellaCarazo-Reynolds to its Board of Directors.
Daniella is the International Legal Operational Director for NP International, a real estatedevelopment firm with offices in Coral Gables. She is in charge of company operations,coordination between projects and affiliates, legal project management including acquisitions,debt and equity ventures and Latin American public relations. Daniella is a mother of two who is also committed to lending her time, resources and talent tocauses benefiting her community and the less privileged. She became involved at an earlyage, acting as a spokeswoman for UNICEF promoting children's rights before the leaders ofthe world at the United Nations in the 90's. She is also an active committee member in theNicklaus Children's Hospital bereavement program Nico's Promise, which strives to create asafe inclusive environment at Nicklaus Children's Hospital for all family members who sufferthe loss of a child.
Laura Russo joins Foundation Board of Directors
The Coral Gables Community Foundation is proud to announce the addition of Laura Russo toits Board of Directors. For years, Laura has managed her own law firm, Laura L. Russo Esq, in Coral Gables. Laura's successful firm has built a reputation for providing its clients quality personalizedlegal services specializing in real estate transactions and Coral Gables zoning mattersincluding administrative and public hearing review approvals for residential and commercialdevelopments. Laura is a mother of two and a proud lifelong resident of Coral Gables. Aside from her love oflaw, Laura has great passion for the arts in all forms.
Recent Awards Foundation receives grant from WellsFargo
The Coral Gables Community Foundation received a $2,500 grant to its 4-year Scholarship
Fund from WellsFargo. Jorge Villacampa, WellsFargo Area President for Miami-Dade Countyand Pat Morris, Community Affairs Officer for South Florida, were on hand to present thecheck to the Foundation.
The Coral Gables Community Foundation is grateful for WellsFargo's support of itsscholarship program, which awards 4, $10,000 college scholarships to deserving andeconomically disadvantaged students from Coral Gables Senior High.

Dade Partners Hall of Fame
In March, the Coral Gables Community Foundation was installed into Miami-Dade CountyPublic Schools' 'Dade Partners Hall of Fame'. Jack Lowell, Foundation Chair-Elect and MarySnow, Foundation Executive Director were on hand to receive this special honor inrecognition of the Foundation's support and contributions to our local Coral Gables schoolsand their students.
The 38th Annual Community Partners Recognition Awards luncheon recognized exemplaryDade Partners and outstanding school volunteers for their contributions and service to Miami-Dade's public schools and its students.

Evensky & Katz/Foldes Financial Wealth Management recognized as a "Donor Next Door"
On May 12th, the Coral Gables Community Foundation and the Coral Gables Chamber ofCommerce jointly honored the firm of Evensky & Katz/Foldes Financial Wealth Managementas their 'Donor Next Door' at Philanthropy Miami's annual event at Jungle Island. CoralGables-based Evensky & Katz/Foldes Financial Wealth Management and its Chief MarketingOfficer, David Evensky, make community service and charitable giving a priority among thefirm's partners and staff.
The firm's Fund at the Coral Gables Community Foundation serves as the central vehicle forall of the firm's charitable giving. The firm supports many local charitable organizations suchas the Miami Children's Health Foundation, Make-A-Wish, the Coral Gables Museum, theBaptist Health South Florida Foundation, Pridelines, the Thomas Armour Youth Ballet andmany others. Thank you to those who joined the Coral Gables Community Foundation to celebrate our2016 Scholarship and Community Grant recipients at the home of Ajit and Maria AliciaAsrani on Wednesday, May 25th. It was a lovely evening as the Foundation, its Board ofDirectors and fund holders awarded nearly $100,000 in college scholarships to 11 talentedstudents from Coral Gables High School and awarded grants to 15 non-profit organizationswith an impact in Coral Gables.

Shalala MusicReach Recital Celebrates Foundation Grant
The Donna E. Shalala MusicReach Program at the University of Miami's Frost School of
Music provides musical experiences for at-risk students throughout Miami-Dade
County. The Foundation awarded the Donna E. Shalala MusicReach program a grant in
2015 to fund after school music, drumming and beginner string instrument instruction for
children from Carver Elementary and Frances S. Tucker Elementary schools. Graduate
students from the Frost School of Music were on hand to lead the students in their creative
performances at a recital held at The Barnyard on April 13th. Thank you to the young
musicians for a wonderful recital!

The Symphonettes Fashion Show & Auction Fundraiser
The Symphonettes Fund administered by the Coral Gables Community Foundation supportsthe organization comprised of high school girls who promote the arts and music in ourcommunity. The young women of the Symphonettes just completed a busy and verysuccessful school year.
The Symphonettes recently hosted their 50th Anniversary Celebration Fashion Show andAuction fundraiser at The Ritz Carlton in Coconut Grove. Under the leadership of clubpresident Jeannie Szomstein, a junior at Ransom Everglades, a dedicated and hard workinggroup of Symphonettes members planned and worked for nearly a year to create the wellattended and successful event that pays tribute to the graduating seniors.
Giving back to their community is the biggest lesson the Symphonettes learn throughteamwork, organization and thorough planning. Their hard work paid off as the fashion showand auction brought in proceeds of more than $30,000.
Coral Gables High School Culinary Arts students visit Tarpon Bend
On May 10th, Wayne Cameron Eldred, Coral Gables Community Foundation Board memberand owner of Tarpon Bend Raw Bar & Grill, treated graduating seniors from the Coral GablesHigh School Culinary Arts program to breakfast and a special tour of the restaurant's kitchenand inner workings. The Culinary Arts Fund at the Foundation supports the Culinary ArtsProgram and its students from Gables High. The Fund is supported by proceeds from theFoundation's annual Tour of Kitchens event. The Fund awards scholarships for students toattend culinary school as well as provides funding to improve the Culinary Arts program at theHigh School.
Ponce Society of Young Professionals Beautification Project
On May 21st, the Ponce Society of Young Professionals volunteered their time and efforts onan art mural beautification project at Ponce De Leon Middle School. Local artist, MichaelHalley and members of the Ponce Society of Young Professionals painted the beautiful muralat the Middle School, which will be enjoyed by students and visitors alike. The event was amajor success and the striking mural can be seen from US1!
Merrick Society Reception On May 12th, the Coral Gables Community Foundation held its annual Merrick Societyappreciation reception. Merrick Society members and Foundation Board Members gatheredat the beautiful home of Matthew Meehan & Rod Hildebrant to celebrate the generosity of ourMerrick Society level donors. The Foundation thanks its hosts and Merrick Society members,both new and old, for all they make possible throughout the year!
