Lower Belly and Genital Breathing When you are doing breathwork with a client for the first time, you really want

to explain the benefits of why you are inviting them to do this and what might

they expect if they have never done breathwork before.

You also want to use an intake form so you find out if the client has epilepsy,

seizures, serious mental health issues or severe asthma. Breathwork can be

dangerous for people with these conditions.

You can explain:

• Breathwork is a really powerful tool that lets you release things on the the

deepest layer of the unconscious

• It can really facilitate a deep and powerful transformational healing if you do

it regularly

• It is safe to sound, move and express whatever they need • You are there for them and you have seen it all and it’s not something strange

You want to explain the different effects of breathwork:

• Tingles/oxygenation

• Tetany

• The initial potential discomfort

• The experience of hitting a wall

You want to explain this to your client so:

1. They don’t get freaked out by it

2. They feel committed to doing the process

You also want them to know that it is not about losing all control or obliterating

yourself, but that breathwork is about allowing yourself to gently take down

some of the cortical control, so things can rise up and you can be sensitive to

what’s really going on inside.

You also want to tell them more about the breathing technique:

• Mouth breathing

• Connected breathing

• How to connect with the felt sense

• And finally, explain the specific breathing technique that you will be doing

Breathwork process structure

1. Lie down

2. Legs straight or knees bent - whatever helps the client drop in more

3. Invite them to start breathing and demonstrate the breathing so they are

following your breathing pattern

4. Track them - either watch or listen to their breathing or some combination

of both

5. Remind them to breath into the part you want them to breath into

6. Time them, and after about five minutes, ask them to express what they are

experiencing, and then repeat this every five minutes or so

Use resourcing when needed, if they encounter strong fear or flashbacks. They

can always resource! It is okay to have a strong reaction - you want them to

complete the stress cycle: they might, cry, scream, feel fear - but if they feel they

are going into terror or become extremely overwhelmed, that’s when you want

to stop them and have them resource. But if they complete a stress cycle

through an intense release - this is a good sign.

However, most clients will do a shorter breathwork with you, especially at first,

which is more about them exploring and embodying themes that you are

covering in the session rather than going deep and fully releasing stress cycles.

You want them to be able to digest the experience and get up and go back to

their day and handle the experience. So set the intention at good, gentle and

powerful healing.

Ending the session

After the breathwork process is finished, end it by:

• Letting them call down and rest

• Rubbing their hands through their hair or stroking their skin

• Letting them nourish their nervous system with pleasure

• Letting them know that no matter what they go through, they can always

choose pleasure afterwards

• Lying down and integrating in stillness

Lower belly and genital breathing

When you encourage lower belly breathing, you are inviting your client to come

home to a deep part of their body. This is why the blueprinting tools go along

with liberating family dynamics, because a lot of the time if we grow up with

families that don’t fully accept us, we learn to leave our bodies and never feel

fully at home in our bodies or in life.

Use lower belly breathing for when a client:

• Doesn’t feel safe

• Doesn’t feel at home inside their lives

• Doesn’t know what they want in life

The lower belly area is powerful for women! It gives a sense of femininity of

lusciousness, sensuality - give this to women who feel disconnected.

Use genital breathing for when a client:

• Needs to repair a broken relationship with the genitals • Come home • Build sensitivity
