Middle of the bed lyrics:I sleep in the middle of the bedYou don't know, is it fine to hold my hand?I sleep in the middle of the bedSun slips through my cold hands
Do you really want me back?Do you really want me back?
Cause I'm over it, over youAll over the town they say I love youI'm over it, I'm over youAll over the townThey say I love you, yeahThey says I always willThey say I love you, yeahThese wounds, they won't heal
I talk to myself at nightBetter still when the lights are turned outI talk inside my headBetter if nobody knows what I said
Do you really want me back?Do you really want me back?
Cause I'm over it, over youAll over the town they say I love youI'm over it, I'm over youAll over the town They say I love you, yeahThey says I always willThey say I love you, yeahThese wounds, they won't heal
It's all over the townYour spreading the rumoursIt's all over the townYour spreading the rumours
If you knew me at allYou should all know my answers(ª4)
They say I love you, yeahThey says I always willThey say I love you, yeahThese wounds, they won't heal(ª2)
The sun slowly falls through
Could possibly
used a male character in this chorus
to sing these lyrics to as the female character
can act angry/satisfied at telling her old love interest she has moved
on.
Have our actress literally lying in the ‘middle of the
bed’
Image/shot of two people holding
hands?
We need the ending of our
video to be memorable and
have an impact on the audience. We could possibly end the film with our
heroine with a male character,
leaving the audience to
question ‘is she really over
him/moved on?’
Literally have our actress
turning off a lamp/light
We could possibly include other characters if
possible, to show people gossiping
about the relationship.
The lighting used in these scenes contribute a slightly gloomy aspect towards the mood of
the video, as well as a slight hint of satire as the singer is wearing a top hat and dark
glasses in the first image.
This medium close up shot is used throughout the film. It is very
simple and easy shot and can be filmed in many
locations. This is probably due to
the low budget of the video but is successful in the
way that the artist is always the main
focus.
The short jump cuts back to Lucy Rose clapping in time with the beat of the chorus on the track is a nice addition to the film and makes the audience aware of the beat also, which ultimately makes the song more memorable for them.
Shot showing the artist looking up at the trees, followed by a point of view
shot
Extreme wide shot showing the artist in a vast countryside area, making the form look
small
The choice of colours in these examples are directly tied into the mood of the video as
they set a dismal tone.
One technique used in this artists videos was the use of projectors. We noticed how interesting projecting images onto a
background looks, especially when the artist is placed in the foreground . As well as
making the piece of film look aesthetically intricate and appealing, it adds a though-provoking aspect for the audience. For
instance, the projected images could be seen as the characters inner thoughts.
Music video evaluation -Digital question on eval Projector work
To begin with, we produced a short fifty second film, which we then played on repeat through a projector onto a plain white wall in our media studio. The footage we shot was of very pastoral features, like a stream, leaves blowing in the wind and fields. The natural shades on brown, light blue and green create a calming atmosphere in the video which work well when combined with the slower parts of the song. We also had to edit the film by reducing the speed of the footage, so it could be seen in more detail when projected and filmed by another camera.
Using the black couch allowed our actress to show more emotion through her body language.
Outside shots Lighting
As our film was predominantly shot inside a studio, we utilized our resources as much as we could to make the video more interesting. We did this mainly by experimenting with lighting and colour.
Front Cover Research
Back of CD Case Research
This is a slightly more abstract example of album artwork. By using
this intricate mixture of colour, wildlife and vivid drawings the CD instantly stands out to the target
audience.
These warm colours have connotations of summer
(red, orange, yellow) which may make the audience
believe the music is a light hearted, summery album.
The font used looks very elegant, which matches the overall theme of this case.
Using this image for the background adds detail as most CDs just list the song
titles with not much else for the audience too look at.
The use of font and vintage radio presents a slightly retro
theme to the cover.
The picturesque surroundings of this image
presents the CD as minimalistic and pretty. The choice of earthy colour also
does this. The way the lighting is used on the
right hand side to illuminate the artist, whilst on the left hand side there is a dark shadow that allows
the song list, is a clever way to make the text stand out as the colour of
the text is a white shade.
The way the artwork is on both the front and back of
the case continues the theme and makes it look aesthetically attractive to
the audience.
This is another slightly abstract example of a CD
case. The human form and the ‘lungs’ placed on the
woman’s chest is the thing that attracts the main
attention on the cover.
We think by using an image on the actual CD
makes it look really interesting. This
particular image makes the audience question
what the hands are holding and why is it
relevant, which in turn makes it memorable
and stand out.
The same text is used for the album name,
‘LUNGS’. Which makes the album
cover and CD match.
The colours used in the background (shades on black, grey, green) make the pale-skinned artist contrast with it, making her stand out and focus
the attention of the target audience on her.
